The twenty-first century is an era of knowledge economy.Innovation and entrepreneurship,change and development are the main themes of the times.Entrepreneurship education has become an important engine for a country's economic development and prosperity.The United States has an early history of developing entrepreneurship education on universities and a complete system of entrepreneurship education,which has a great impact on the entrepreneurship education of other countries in the world.As a result of a series of entrepreneurship education policies that the federal government enacted and implemented,entrepreneurship education in American universities is developing rapidly and has achieved great success.Therefore,a systematic study of the United States federal government entrepreneurship education policy on universities both has theoretical significance and practical significance.The dissertation takes the United States federal government entrepreneurship education policy on universities as the research object,and takes two significant policies:American Innovation Strategy and The Innovative and Entrepreneurial University:Higher Education,Innovation&Entrepreneurship in Focus as cases.And the dissertation analyses the history of the development of entrepreneurship education policy in chronological order,its background,its content,its implementation and its effect and so on.Through the study of the United States federal government entrepreneurship education policy on universities,the study finds that firstly,there are some features on federal government entrepreneurship education policy,including engaging with policy making process of non-governmental organization,striving for excellence in education,individuality first and equity in education in focus and so on.Furthermore,federal government entrepreneurship education policy on universities in the United States,to some extent,has been effective in the following aspects:enriching the curriculum of entrepreneurship education in universities;broadening the funding sources of entrepreneurship education in universities;accelerating the transformation of the achievements of entrepreneurship education in universities;strengthening the training of entrepreneurial teachers;innovating teaching methods and talent training modes of entrepreneurship education.However,there are still some problems during the implementation of the policy.For example,there are still some obstacles in the transformation of the achievements of entrepreneurship education.Decentralization of management departments and ambiguity of power and duties.Lack of effective supervision and evaluation on the implementation effect of the policy.And to some extent,the target and content of policy are utilitarian and so on.Lastly,it also has some inspiration for our country who is in the fast development stage of entrepreneurship education.
