| Curriculum standard is the basis of school teaching and evaluation.The Ministry of Education in November 2016 witnessed the formulation of the curriculums standards for the schools for students with hearing impairment,visual impairment and intellectual disability.These three types of curriculum standards provides guidance for our special education schools to develop school-based curriculum.The United Kingdom provided a national curriculum for all primary and secondary schools in the state school sector in England,Wales and Northern Ireland.Stubbin Wood School is a outstanding state school for intellectual disability in England.By the guidance of the national curriculum standards,the school develops pre-formal curriculum,the semi-formal curriculum,formal curriculum,the rehabilitation curriculum and the extending curriculum for the students,different special needs.The school develop a process when making long term and short term teaching plan the topics of the key stages.In the guidance of layered teaching and general learning design,the school develop different activities for meeting the different levels students’ needs.On the basis of the sub-curriculum standards,the school integrate the teaching contents of various subjects by the topics for providing students with the whole life experience.The school meet students’ individual education needs by the detailed teaching plan and individual learning plans,ensure students’full-participation in activities by multiple sensory and experience-oriented teaching methods.By UK’s rich assessment systems,the school uses the combination of standardized achievement tests based on data and curriculum standard evaluation with various evaluation methods.In the students’ assessment,the school combines the implementation of students’ Individual Learning Plan,daily teaching and curriculum development,and function the assessment to guide and feedback teaching. |
