In the 20s and the 30s twentieth Century,the land of "doctorate to the countryside" was widely emphasized in major parts of China.These highlighted phenomena did not only bring "dying back to life" to the Chinese villages,but also it encouraged many eager youths to give up the name and the interest of the city-life and headed toward to become a 'barefoot' doctor in the country side.Since the establishment of the Republic of China in the 30s,the rural education movement by individuals gradually formed throughout the country more than 600.Among them,educators,industrialists,and local gentry,and so on,their educational ideas and practice provided valuable wealth in terms of experience to the "three rural"problems in twenty-first Century.Based on the materialism as a guiding ideology,in terms of pedagogy,psychology and sociology of knowledge based,comprehensive literature analysis,comparative analysis to distribute a systematic thought of adult education of rural education in twentieth Century 20s and 30s in the rural construction movement,based on method and historical research method.This article is divided into five parts:The first chapter is introductory remark,including the reasons,significance and research review,research ideas and methods,innovations and areas that ought to be further studied.The second chapter highlights the fundamental approach towards the rural education movement in the 20s and 30s twentieth Century,including the background,the role of Christianity in the rural construction,and the rise,development and decline of the rural education movement.The third chapter emphasized the thoughts and practices of the representative rural education thinkers in the rural.education movement in 20s and 30s twentieth Century,including Tao Xingzhi,Liang Shuming,Yan Yangchu and Lu Zuofu.The fourth chapter is analyzing the characteristics of the rural education movement in the 20s and 30s twentieth Century.Taking the rural education thought and practice of Tao Xingzhi,Liang Shuming,Yan Yangchu and Lu Zuofu as an example,from the main body,the rural education movement object,method and content of the main characteristics of the rural education movement.The fifth chapter put the contributions and limitations of the rural education movement in 20s and 30s twentieth Century into a nutshell.From the summarized methodology,viewing history through the lens of a mirror,through overall experiences and lessons of the rural education movement,it provides an approachable enlightenment towards the rural education and social development in twenty-first Century.
