In the study of daily life,especially in science articles,people often explain some phenomenon or principle by the way of illustration and text combination according to the multimedia learning theory.This kind of illustration learning method can reduce the external cognitive load of learners and improve the learning effect.With the deepening of research,more and more researchers have found that when learning from illustrations,learners often fail to integrate illustration and text information,resulting in poor learning results.Based on this,drawing learning has begun to arouse the attention of educators and learners.According to the generation theory of drawing construction,learners summarize and express scientific concepts in learning materials by drawing pictures,which increase learners' cognitive load,so as to help understand the essence of things better.In this context,this research discusses the effects of illustration learning and drawing learning on junior high school students.Three formal experiments were designed in this study.In the first experiment,111 junior high school students were selected to verify the illustrative effect of multimedia learning theory.In the second experiment,65 junior high school students were selected to verify the generative drawing effect in the generative theory of drawing construction,and to explore the effect of accuracy of drawings on the prediction of post-test results.The third experiment chose 267 junior high school students to compare the effects of illustration learning,drawing learning and their combination on the learning effect.The results show that:1.The post-test score of illustration group is significantly higher than that of text group,which indicates that illustration effect exists,and illustration learning can improve the learning effect.2.The post-test score of drawing group is significantly higher than that in text group,which indicates that the effect of generative drawing exists,and drawing learning can improve the learning effect.3.The accuracy of the learner's drawing is positively correlated with his post-test scores,and the accuracy of the drawing can positively predict the post-test results of the subjects.4.The post-test score of drawing group is significantly higher than that of illustration group,which indicates that the learning effect of drawing study is better than that of illustration study.5.The post-test score of the strategy overlay group is not the best,which indicates that the two strategies composition of illustration learning and drawing learning could not produce the best learning effect.
