The Ideological And Political Education Functions Of University Students' Voluntary Service And Its Implementing Strategies

The essence of universities is strengthening moral education and cultivating people.College ideological and political education is the key of higher education,which insists on the correct political direction,performs the duties of cultivating ethical people,and firmly holds the key of comprehensively improving the talent cultivating ability.In the process of volunteer services,many college students have established their sense of social responsibility and mission,consciousness of patriotism,devotion,mutual assistance and love.With socialism with Chinese characteristics stepping into a new era,the ideological and political education work faces more severe challenges and undertake more onerous tasks.How to enhance the effectiveness of ideological and political education in colleges and universities in order to efficiently complete the historical task of cultivating responsible and competent new generations,to respect the rules of students' growing as well as the rules of teachers education and teaching and,thus,to make the ideological and political education accepted actively by students with the carrier of the volunteer services activities of college students is worth further exploring and thinking.Therefore,giving full play to the functions of ideological and political education of college students volunteer services is the core of the thesis.Focusing on this issue,the thesis analyzes the relationship between college students volunteer services and ideological and political work in colleges and universities,discusses the composition of the functions of college students' ideological and political education and puts forward the basic principles and strategies to achieve its functions with the methods of functional analysis and case analysis.Apart from the introduction and conclusion,four chapters are included:Chapter 1 is the conceptual basis.The key point is to solve the problem of "what is the essence of college student volunteer services".It includes three aspects: connotation analysis,ideological basis and functional analysis.In terms of the connotation analysis,the paper discusses its composing elements and basic characteristics started with the meaning of college students' volunteer services.On the ideological basis,the paper focuses on the charitable thoughts contained in Chinese traditional culture,the related expositions of Marxist classic writers as well as the guiding significance of related Western theories for college students volunteer services.As for the functional analysis,it analyzes the functions of college students' volunteer services from personal,social and global level.Chapter two,value analysis.Based on the specific cases and practical work,this paper analyzes the education value of college students' voluntary service from three aspects of moral building,spiritual motivation and value guidance.At the moral level,it mainly includes the formation and cultivation of individual,family,occupation and social morality.In terms of spiritual motivation,it mainly includes the spirit of dedication and progress,collectivism and responsibility.In the aspect of value guidance,it mainly includes the guidance to the value of dedication,mutual assistance,friendship and progress.Chapter 3 is the analysis of the functions.From the four aspects of college students' character cultivation and self-development,social harmony and progress,and the promotion of volunteerism,the paper focuses on the analysis of the guiding,incentive,coordinating and coherent functions of college students' volunteer services.The guiding functions is mainly reflected in the four aspects of cognitive guidance,emotional guidance,value guidance,and behavior guidance;the incentive functions is mainly reflected in the three levels: the guidance of students' ideological concepts and participation as well as the guidance of model demonstration;the coordinating functions is mainly reflected in four aspects: between individuals,between individuals and groups,between groups,and between groups and society;the coherent functions mainly includes three levels of spiritual cohesion,cultural cohesion and value cohesion.Chapter 4 is the implementing strategy.It mainly contains two aspects: principles and methods of implementation.In terms of principles,it focuses on analyzing the basic principles of the combinations of public values and individual values,practical education and theoretical exploration,education shaping and self-cultivation as well as full participation and typical demonstration.In terms of methods,this chapter proposes the four development strategy of “localization”,“curriculization”,“branding” and “professionalization” of volunteering services for college students from the perspectives of the concepts,activities,projects,and organizations of volunteer services.In terms of protection,in light of the existing problems,the thesis put emphasis on the basic strategies of improving the policy support,material security and position docking of university student voluntary service.
