Geometry curriculum has been a key part of mathematics course since ancient times.As the progress and development of society,the calculation formula focusing on the circumference,size and volume has gradually failed to meet the requirements of the development of education.The spatial concept literacy which directly related to the field of "Graphics and Geometry" starts to receive universal attention.Its educational significance lies in cultivating students' ability of logical reasoning,mathematical model etc through the development of student's Spatial Sense.How to correctly understand the Spatial Sense literacy and put it into teaching practice is not only the issue that teachers should pay special attention to but also the important issue of academic theory and practice exploration.For the literature review and collation,scholars should combine empirical research with psychology and put forward the development of spatial sense from the perspective of students.The study tries to divide the developing stage of mathematics Spatial Sense and define the meaning and characteristics of each stage,in order to put forward some teaching suggestions.It based on the knowledge of "Graphics and Geometry" covered by mathematics curriculum and the expected learning result of pupils' Spatial Sense.This research mainly comprises the following four parts: Firstly,it uses literature analysis to construct the development elements of space concept.Secondly,it disentangles the curriculum standards and teaching materials of grades one to six.Besides,the stages of development are categorized.Thirdly,combining classroom observations,lesson plans and the teacher interviews,the paper analyzes the curriculum standards and teaching materials at each stage.It summarizes the connotation and characteristics of each stage and clarifies the key factors of each stage,and it puts forward the corresponding teaching suggestions.In the last part,the main conclusion of this study is that the development of pupils' Spatial Sense can be divided into three stages: stage one: the stage of visual perception(grade 1 and 2),stage tow: the stage of simple description and analysis(grade 3 and 4),stage three: thestage of complex abstract(grade 5 and 6),and summarizes the relationship between stages,Spatial Sense and other literacy,and it puts forward the reflection and prospect of this study.
