Solid geometry is the key content in the college entrance examination of mathematics, whose aim is to investigate the students’ spatial sense. The full-time compulsory education "mathematics curriculum standard(experiment draft)", which had been published in2011 explicitly pointed out that we should develop the students’ spatial sense and give specific definitions of its components. The sense of spatial is a compulsory content, which can cultivate students’ innovative spirits and practical abilities. In this stage, the three-view drawing is under the new standard of content, it can develop the students’ abilities of spatial imagination and cultivate spatial sense. "Three-view drawing " is not only a big luminescent spot in the class standard solid geometry content, but also a hotspot which are widely adapted to the entrance examination for college in different regions in recent years.Although, at the beginning of middle school, the three-view drawing is included in the curriculum, but the required abilities are different. The author have used the theory of classification of solo to regard three-view drawing as the breakthrough point, investigating into the entrance examination for college in recent years, analyzing the purposes of the test and forming the classification of various abilities, in order to examining the development level of middle school students’ sense of spatial. In view of this, the author had chosen Chenzhou’, Changsha’and Hengyang’middle school students as targets to carry on the questionnaire survey, obtaining the developmental characteristics of middle school students’ spatial sense, which are the main contents of this study. This research mainly uses questionnaire investigation adopted with qualitative research methods, to study the following questions:(1) the developmental trend of the sense of spatial with the growth of age ?(2)the developmental characteristics in the spatial sense of different level in each grade?(3) does the sense of spatial exist gender differences?(4) how to improve and enhance students’ spatial sense? It turns out that the general trend is slightly developed, while senior middle school’ students have developed faster than junior middle school’ students; The students from senior Two represent the highest level of spatial sense, the second one is the senior one, and the junior two, junior one; As for gender, spatial sense does not exist any significant difference; On the ability level is, the higher the ability level is the slower development. Studies have found that students’ abilities in spatial sense of E(reasoning and computing), C(dividing and combining) and D(transforming of perspective and geometry) ability are at first rising then falling and rising again, while the total score, A ability( views drawing) and B ability(dimensions transforming)of spatial sense are rising. Finally, based on the findings of this study, some suggestions are put forward to the development of the middle school students’ sense of spatial.
