The Demand For Married Female Drug Dependent Patients:Adjustment And Improvement Of Family Relationships

In recent years,Chinese Drug Control Report shows that the number of female drug users is increasing rapidly and the relapse rate is high.Social workers are supposed to understand and assess the problems and needs of female drug dependent patients who have been labeled at the same time.This study is working on how to discover and accurately assess the real needs of female drug dependent patients.The years of taking drugs and drug treatment have kept women's lives,emotions and families in the shadow of drugs.In this study,it will take 11 female drug dependent patients who have been futher contacted and interviewed in X Drug Addiction Treatment Center as the research objects and be guided by the label theory and demand theory,studying and evaluating family relationships condition of female drug dependent patients and their desire including demand of family relationship.The study found that the characteristics of their family relationships conditions were:insipid and imbalanced between husband and wife;repulsive and distrustful between parents and children;rejective and strange between relatives.Relapsing women have strong desire to improve their family relationship in these aspects,including making up insipid couple love;getting back to their children;accepting kinship care.Meanwhile,the study found that their expectation and needs to adjust their family relationships were: characterized by discrimination labels and getting rid of discrimination demands;passive self-labeling and getting rid of lables requirements;rejection of the label and getting care needs.On this basis,this study attempts to explore the family therapy combined with structural family therapy,combined family therapy and strategy family therapy.Finally,this research will discuss about the possible difficulties when social workers intervene their families and the perspective of police in regard to their family matters.
