The study analyzed field data which will have contained quantitative methods to determine the public awareness investigation on the use of modern family planning methods in Zanzibar. The five regions of Zanzibar were selected for this study because there is interaction of people with different social – economic activities. The study aim was to investigate the public awareness investigation on the use of modern family planning methods in Zanzibar. The study include 250 respondents and analysis was done using SPSS version 20.Focus group interviews were conducted among the respondent who agreed to participate in the study The findings show that, there is low level of knowledge on the use of modern family planning methods among men and women in Zanzibar in which varies from one region to another which become a challenge due to the effort made by government of Zanzibar and the researcher observed that knowledge level of family planning was relatively low among the respondents which involves 62.0% in which 55 are males and 100 are female compared to 38% having higher knowledge level in which 36 are male and 59 are female. The study demonstrated that the main reasons of not using family planning method for the respondents were religious factor, health problems.Lack of knowledge and cost/expensive.More over the result shows that out of 5 regions in the study area, the Urban West Region have more awareness on the knowledge level of family planning methods having 45 respondents who have higher knowledge level followed by North Region having 13 respondents in Unguja Island and South Region in Pemba having 25 respondents followed by North region in Pemba having about 9 respondents. Also,Urban west region shows a high response having the lower knowledge level which is about 68 respondents in Unguja followed by North Region in Unguja having23 respondents and North Region having 29 respondents and followed by South region having 16 respondents in Pemba. The variable location of the respondent, who do you live most of time, current employment and marital status were found to be statistically significance related to public awareness at 5% level of level of significance. In opposite the variables gender, age, disability and education level were found to not statistically significance related to public awareness at 5% significance level.Binary logistic regression analysis revealed that location of the respondent and marital status was found to have positive impacts on public awareness through the modern methods while who do you live most of time and employment were also bring positive impact on public awareness through traditional methods. The hypotheses were carried out using chi square test statistic at 5% level of significance and the p value was used to judge whether null hypothesis should be rejected or not. Also, hypothesis testing included only variables which were defined by null hypotheses but also were found to be statistically significant to determine the public awareness for respondents on using modern family planning methods using Pearson chi square test and logistic regression analysis. These variables are location of the respondents and marital status. The H–L test is a statistical test for goodness of fit for logistic regression models. It is used frequently in risk prediction models. The test assesses whether or not the observed event rates match expected event rates in subgroups of the model population. The H–L test specifically identifies subgroups as the deciles of fitted risk values. The result from the study area shows the H-L test which depict the model is statistically significance from the given study. This occur in logistic regression when the P-value is less than 5% level of significance( < 0.05)otherwise not.And therefore Pvalue is less than 5% significance level at a given Chi square = 5.338.
