Since ancient times,there have been ceremonies in the social activities of human beings from religious ceremonies to folk customs.Through ceremonial activities,these abstract ideological cultures have become concrete and visualized.Through the transmission of symbolic symbols in rituals,people can understand and accept things that are originally supposed to be innocent,and the original social order is consolidated.The social concept has also been strengthened.The function of ritual communication to effectively maintain human society has long been discovered by James Kerry.So he proposed a new communication mode that is different from what was popular at the time and spread the "ceremonial view." As a result,the topics of“media events” and “media rituals” have also been paid attention by communication scholars.From the perspective of ceremonial communication,we will study the television spread of the Wimbledon Tennis Championships and pay attention to how the Wimbledon games spread the culture through the functions of symbols.It elaborated in detail how the Wimbledon event dissemination uses television as a mass media to involve the audience invitation in a media ceremony and influence it.Wimbledon is the highest level of tennis competitions and Wimbledon's competitive characteristics for large-scale sports events.In the broadcast of the Wimbledon game on the television media,Wimbledon was skillfully decorated with many Wimbledon symbols,so that Wimbledon's game was like a media ceremony carefully packed by television media.The article will use the TV broadcast of the 2013 Wimbledon Men's Singles Final and Men's Singles Final Awards as a research text to conduct a case study of Wimbledon's ceremonial communication.The communicative methods and characteristics of Wimbledon games will be analyzed in television broadcasts to explore the significance of the Wimbledon Open in the context of ceremonialcommunication.Dylan and Katz's typical characteristics of the "media event" defined by the Wimbledon match are as follows: interference,monopolization,live broadcasting and apogee,because the participation of the mass media Wimbledon has been more fully and comprehensively reported,the mass media presented the ceremonial Wimbledon games to television viewers in the form of symbolic symbols.All the fans who watched the game through television broadcasts were included in the Wimbledon Ritual Space created by the television media to share the deep meaning of the Wimbledon media ritual.Therefore,when analyzing the TV text of the Wimbledon game,it mainly discusses how the TV will present the ceremonialization of the Wimbledon game to the fans during the Wimbledon broadcast,such as what symbol will be in the men's singles finals and the men's singles awards ceremony.The symbol appears,how the television camera ceremonially narrates during the contest and the awards ceremony.The article takes the deeper meaning of ritual communication as the starting point,sums up the concerns of Wimbledon competition spreading in the view of ceremonial communication: identity,cultural sharing,and cultural heritage.As an example of Wimbledon's ceremonial communication,this article defines Wimbledon TV broadcast from a ceremonial point of view,analyzes and discusses the cultural and social significance of TV broadcasts in the world's top tennis tournaments,and hopes to expand the study of tennis tournaments in China such as ATP Shanghai Masters.The new train of thought hopes to learn from it,learn from it,and develop our country's event communication ideas.
