In 2018,a nationwide reform of the new curriculum and entrance examination will begin.The teaching principle of the new curriculum stresses that the chemistry teachers should combine humans exploration in matter and its change with the trend of the development of chemistry,cultivating and guiding students' integrative competent and core idea in chemistry.While the chief issue in chemistry teaching lies in the simple teaching mode,the laggard teaching methods,all of these can't cultivate students' competence.So,more and more teachers focus on the suitable teaching mode in the class."Four lines" teaching mode is the adaptive way based on the current situation,which takes history of chemistry as the source,stimulating or improving the method of historical experiment and scientific research to cultivate students' competence in solving problems,experiment inquiry and linking theory with practice.However,the practical effect and suitability of the mode in chemistry teaching in middle schools need to be tested.In this study,the teaching contents of the periodic table of the elements are selected in Book 2,chapter ?,section ?,and the teaching design is carried out according to the "Four lines" teaching mode,and the teaching effect is tested through practice.The application effect of "Four lines" teaching mode is illustrated by practical data.In this thesis,using the literature analysis method,the case practice method,the statistical analysis method,the questionnaire survey method,the interview method carry on the research,and two parallel classes of senior 1(form class 15 and 17)of the Bayannur No.1 Middle School are chosen to be the experimental subject.Before the experiment,the two classes' grads in the last final term were analyzed fully and accurately,in order to prove they are the same in academic record and practical ability.During the experiment,students in the two classes are taught the same teaching content,adopting the version of PEP edition,Book 2,chapter ?,section ?: Periodic Table of Elements,and the students in the experimental class was taught by the "Four lines" teaching mode and the students in the control class adopted the traditional teaching method.After the experiment,the second questionnaire survey was used in the two classes.And some dates were analyzed by SPSS,which came from the monthly test of the two classes.Then,a test of exploration competence designed for the two classes.Last,4 students from the experimental class were interviewed to know their attitude in "Four lines" teaching mode.The results shows that there is a significant difference between the experimental class and the control class.The students of the experimental class has the advantage in interested in chemistry,the understanding of the evolution and the origin of chemistry and the application of knowledge ability.The result of the inquiry-based test shows that the experimented class surpass the control class in connotative meaning of periodic table of elements.The interview shows that different learning level students are all interested in the "Four lines" teaching mode.Finally,the statistical analysis of the results of the monthly examination of the two classes found that the average score of the experimental class and the control class were 55.64 and49.86,respectively.The T value obtained by SPSS was 2.164 <T0.05(100)=1.984,indicating that the scores of these two classes have significant differences.That means "Four lines" teaching mode exceeds the traditional teaching mode in learning and applying of chemistry,and it obtains good practice effect in teaching periodic table of elements.
