In the region of sports psychology, personality reveals a close relationship with sports performance.Personality psychology is the science of analyzing human nature on the whole,The research of personality should not only analyze characteristic types, but also unconscious drive and conflict, that is potential personality traits.Nowadays, there are more studies about characteristic types of freestyle skiing aerials athletes but less about their personality traits.Personality is an important basis for psychological selection of athletes.Understanding potential personality traits of athletes and its influence in training and competition is conducive to selection of athletes as well as psychological consulting and tutoring.Conducting through the method of project test and text analysis,We selected 22 reserved freestyle skiing aerials athletes in Shenyang Sport University,of whom one is above 16 years old and the others are 9-15 years old.We made a Thematic Apperception Test, observed the conflict between outer pressure and inner demand and then analyzed their potential personality traits.Research Results:1.According to analysis report for 22 athletes,it shows that what the athletes need most is the need of achievement, what they feel most are the pressure of refusal and the pressure of lack and loss.Authority of parents, conflict between pursuing success and worrying about failure, anxiety of being controlled, rationalized defense mechanism, slight superego and general ego are also the most annoying factors for them.Anxiety of helplessness, inhibited defense mechanism are the second most annoying factors for them.2.Need,pressure,interpersonal relationship, conflict and superego in potential personality should influence athletes' competition performance directly, and then influence their velocity perception and pressure before competition.Research Conclusion:1.Need of achievement, pressure of refusal and pressure of lack and loss induce freestyle skiing aerials athletes to seek for conflict between pursuing success and worrying about failure, which may further influence their competition performance.2.The alternate use of inhibited and rationalized mechanism cause the authority of parents including coaches and then induce slight superego and general self-integration,which may further influence competition performance of athletes.Research Suggestions:1.There are needs and pressures for reserved freestyle skiing aerials athletes. We suggest that they should be given regular psychological consulting and tutoring to reduce inappropriate needs and pressures. We should pay more attention to the psychological treatments for such kind of athletes in future.2.Freestyle skiing aerials athletes should be given more interventions such as mindfulness to prevent anxiety of helplessness. We suggest that they resort to rationalized defense mechanism to avoid involving emotion. However, the inhibited defense mechanism shouldn't be used frequently.
