Research On The Influence Of Generosity On The Cooperation Behavior Of College Students In Social Dilemma

Social dilemma is ubiquitous in real life.For example,it exists extensively in interpersonal communication,resource utilization and environmental protection.The root of social dilemma is how to coordinate the relationship between individual interests and collective interests under the condition of limited resources.Over decades years,psychologists' research on social predicaments shows that the strategy of "tit for tat" can effectively induce each other's cooperation and solve the predicament.However,in real life,the "tit for tat" strategy does not effectively trigger cooperation due to the existence of "noise"(a noise signifies a noncooperation caused by accidental factors);on the contrary,it can also lead to retribution.This paper mainly studies the influencing factors of cooperative behavior in the social predicament under the "noisy" condition.It is hypothesized that such factors as personality traits(generosity)and game tactics will affect the cooperative behavior in the social dilemma.In this study,we selected Tianjin University of Technology and Education students as research subjects,and conducted empirical research on the research hypothesis by adopting a combination of scale measurement and laboratory research.In the first study,using Internationale Generosity Scale to measure the generosity of 45 college students,followed by experiments on the social predicament.Using 2(noise:noise,noise-free)* 3(strategy:fair,stingy,generous)subjects were designed to simulate human interaction,allowing subjects and computers to carry baggage tests with each other and using their time of baggage as an indication of the level of cooperation.Then use the "interpersonal generosity scale" to measure the generosity of college students and study the relationship between generosity and cooperation.In the second study,using the questionnaire of situation selection to study the cooperation behavior of people in the real situation.Using t test,analysis of variance,correlation analysis and other methods of data analysis of experimental results.The conclusions are follows:(1)The main effect of the strategy is significant.Under the generous strategy,college students have the highest level of cooperation,followed by the fair stingy,and the stratagem with the lowest level of cooperation.(2)The main effect of "noise" is significant,that is,under the condition of "noise",the cooperation level of undergraduates is reduced.(3)The more generous,the more cooperate in social dilemma.Those who scored higher on interpersonal generosity had more cooperate in the later social dilemma.(4)There is no interaction between strategy and presence or absence of "noise".Under the condition of "noise",the individual cooperation level will be affected by different strategies,but the difference is not significant.(5)In real situations,people are more cooperative with generous people.
