As a group with more negative life events, secondary vocational students' mental health problems are more diverse and serious.A large number of studies have confirmed the causal relationship between negative life events and problem behaviors, but the response of the organism to negative life events is affected by both the characteristics of stress events and individual traits, such as coping strategies and problem-solving skills. Therefore, considering the comprehensive factors affecting the healthy growth of secondary vocational students from the perspective of the whole or relationship,it is more in line with the actual situation of individual growth and development. This study examined the effects of negative life events on problem behaviors of secondary vocational school students, and further revealed the mediating effect of sleep quality on problem behaviors. In this study,581 students from a secondary vocational school in Chengyang District of Shandong Province were selected by cluster random sampling. The data were collected by ASLEC,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index and Youth Self-Report.SPSS19.0 and Amos20.0 software were used for statistical analysis. The following conclusions are drawn:(1)There are gender differences in the learning pressure, loss, punishment dimension of negative life events in secondary vocational students. The learning pressure, loss, punishment level of male students are significantly higher than that of female students, and the interaction between gender and grade of learning stress is significant, that is,the male students learn with the increase of grades. The level of stress has gradually declined, and the level of learningstress among girls has gradually increased..There are gender differences in problem behaviors among secondary vocational school students, and the problem of externalizing behaviors among boys is significantly higher than that of girls.(2)Negative life events were positively correlated with sleep quality, internalizing problem behaviors and externalizing problem behaviors;sleep quality was positively correlated with internalizing problem behaviors and externalizing problem behaviors;internalizing problem behaviors was positively correlated with externalizing problem behaviors.(3)sleep quality plays a mediating effect between negative life events and problem behaviors.
