Restricted and repetitive behaviors(RRBs)is one of the core deficits of children with autism.Which significantly narrowing the motivation and interest of children with autism to explore the environment, leading to autistic children unable to input information from the external environment, make them difficult to effectively interact with the external environment, and ultimately affect social adaptation and integration.Interventions on restricted repetitive behaviors of children with autism help to promote the development of cognitive, social, and communication skills, help them establish good peer relationships, and enhance social integration.Stimulus-stimulus pairing refers to the pairing neutral stimuli with unconditional stimuli, which effectively promoted the development of preference and reducing restricted and repetitive behaviors of children with autism. The purpose of this study was to investigate the immediate and maintenance effect of restricted repetitive behavior improvement after teaching through the stimulus-stimulus pairing. The study used a single case design of the experimental design of multiple baseline cross subjects. The study subjects were three 4-5 year-old children with preschool-age autism. The independent variable was the stimulus-stimulus pairing, and the dependent variable was the number of interval that the restricted repetitive behavior occurred during five minutes of free play time. The study used visual analysis, descriptive statistics, interobserver agreement to process the research data, and interviewed the parents of the subject to establish the social validity of the study. The results of the study showed that:(1)the restricted repetitive behaviors in this study were maintained by automatic reinforcement;(2)stimulus-stimulus pairing had a good immediate effect on the improvement of the restricted repetitive behavior of children with autism;(3)stimulus-stimulus pairing had a good maintenance effect on the improvement of the restricted repetitive behavior of children with autism;(4)stimulus-stimulus pairing has good social validity for the improvement of restricted repetitive behavior in children with autism.Based on the above research, the researcher also summarizes the research based on the research process and research results from the cognitive level, physical and mental characteristics and learning style of the research subject, and suggestions were given on the basis of the findings,so as to provide a reference for China's researchers and educators.
