Opto-electronic Information Science and Engineering is a new college major aims to support the Strategic Emerging Industries and cultivate research and engineering talents.Since the 1990s,the developed countries started to strengthen engineering education,which led to the blooming of education patterns.However,in China,the education pattern is still outdated,and deviates from the development of industry.Therefore,for the new engineering education transformation,the key points are as follows:How to evaluate the applicability of engineering education pattern?How to perfect the corresponding faculty,curriculum system and teaching methods?And how to cultivate compound talents?This thesis is divided into three parts:First,analyze the problems.Determining the scope of this research by consulting related literature is the first step.Then,analyze the background of photoelectric industry and college major,complete the study on ability evaluation of graduates by photoelectric enterprises and research institutions.Lastly,identify the key issues in photoelectric engineering education pattern by data statistics and expert interviews.Second,establish the pattern.The pattern construction is based on the following items:standards such as?EC2000?,?Engineering Education Certification Standard?;typical case study of photoelectric education at home and abroad;study of domestic educational reform and cultivating programs.The engineering education pattern is structured with four modules(objective/curriculum/method/condition)and 36 factors.Third,improve the practice.First of all,establish a evaluation system of the importance and achievement of all the factors for students.Next,set up an Education Advisory Committee to identify the main reasons of the difference,and determine an optimization plan.Then,some professionals are invited to evaluate the optimization,plan the cultivating program and set up a training base.And lastly,sum up the problems of the pattern construction and practice.The contribution of this thesis is to establish a new engineering education pattern which talents are cultivated through multiparty cooperation.This research also can provide reference for over 240 colleges in China and help the education get back on track.
