With the advancement of the national strategy for national fitness and the joint publication of the nine ministries,the marathon and bicycle races were promoted.The health awareness of the masses has been continuously enhanced.Therefore,more and more people have participated in sports.Various large-scale mass sports events and activities have been carried out in all parts of the country.among them,the marathon has shown a spurt of growth.In addition,related research has also received academic attention.However,the basic theoretical research on the marathon is still in its infancy.This study attempts to explore the field through the study of the demand theory of marathon runners.The research mainly uses literature data method,observation method,survey method,statistical analysis,scale development and other methods to make a preliminary discussion on the basic concepts and measurement tools of marathon participants' needs.The main results have four parts.The first part is to define the needs of the marathon runners.besides,it proposes the concepts,scope of application and the relationship between the core concepts in terms of needs and desires.Moreover,it makes some efforts to explore the theoretical analysis framework in the field.The second part is to collect the indicators of the marathon runners' needs and develop a questionnaire.based on the five factors extracted from the project analysis and exploratory factor analysis,the second part is named and explained,which includes the brand image needs?the safety requirements of the competition ? value realization requirements and entry service requirements.In addition,it provides logistics support requirements and build a structural equation model to verify,form a marathon contestant demand scale.This scale can be used as a tool for further research in the future.The third part uses empirical research and analysis to summarize and discover the overall demand characteristics of marathon runners.The survey shows that The demand level of the event brand image is the highest,which is followed by the event safety requirements,self-realization needs,experience service requirements and logistics support requirements.The five dimensions and main content of the arrangement.at the same time,it discovers the characteristics of the contestants' needs of different genders,groups(challenge group and leisure group),age,education level and occupation are revealed.The results aremainly as followed.(1)For contestants of different genders,women's demand for each dimension is higher than that of men.(2)For the different groups of contestants,the demand of the leisure group players in each dimension is higher than that of the challenge group players;In the image demand dimension of the brand competition,the challenge group players are more inclined to the demand for the race level brand.(3)For contestants of different ages,the older the age,the higher the demand for safety of the competition,and the more inclined to test their physical fitness through the competition.(4)For contestants of different educational levels,the lower the degree of the contestants,the higher the demand for the various dimensions,the higher the degree of the players,the higher the level of competition and the safety of the competition.(5)For contestants of different occupations,the players who are civil servants have higher requirements for each dimension than those of other professions;most of the competitors from the road run sports organization are the main target groups of the marathon.The fourth part is to put forward rationalization suggestions on the basis of theory and evidence.(1)Make full use of the marathon runners' demand scale to measure and grasp the demand characteristics of the players,so as to improve the social and economic benefits of the competition.(2)To strengthen the brand building of the event and upgrade the level of the event,it is necessary to implement the service management and safety management of the marathon event,and increase the intensity of the brand image image needs and safety requirements for the competition to maximize the satisfaction of the runners.The demand has made the event gain word of mouth and success.(4)In view of the general phenomenon of the shortage of female contestants in the current city marathon,the organizers need to understand their entry requirements and attract female players to participate.(5)It is recommended that the city marathon organizing committee should increase the propaganda of the marathon city culture,prosper and develop the city marathon culture! Promote the development of sports organizations,expand the marathon population,and promote the national fitness development strategy.
