Classroom teaching is often considered to be "teachers give lectures and students attend classes." Therefore, there has been a large amount of detailed research materials on teachers' "knowledge teaching" to improve the teaching quality. However, the “silent language” of teachers' nonverbal behaviors has been ignored by everyone all the time,so people began to link the study of nonverbal behaviors with certain specific occupations since the 1950 s.The study of nonverbal behaviors in the teaching profession has also received more and more attention. The purpose of this study is to explore the advantages and disadvantages of non-verbal behaviors of music teachers and to find the similarities and differences between non-verbal behaviors of elementary school music teachers and music teachers of advanced grades.Suggestions on non-verbal behavior will be provided for the elementary school music teachers to improve the effectiveness of classes and create a good teacher-student atmosphere as a valuable reference according to the research results. The subject of this study is the current status of non-verbal behaviors of primary school music teachers. This study will research the situation of non-verbal behaviors for music teachers in the elementary grades and advanced grades of primary school music and finally summarizes the advantages and disadvantages of non-verbal use of primary school music teachers through the classroom observation records and statistical data.In view of the above problems, this paper will analyze the relevant research results, take 60“Yi Shi Yi You”music lessons from the National Education Resource Public Service Platform as the object of observation through empirical research while use the classroom observation method to investigate the primary school music with specific survey results and data in order to study the status quo of teachers' nonverbal behaviors in the process and summarize the advantages and disadvantages of the non-verbal behaviors of the primary and advanced grade music teachers in the end.The study concluded that the non-verbal behaviors of music teachers is extremely rich in the music classrooms of the elementary and advanced grades.The17 observation points under the six different expressions have different proportions in the primary school music classroom. However, there are some differences in the status quo of non-verbal behaviors between elementary and advanced grades music teachers. It can be seen that more than 2/3 of the teachers in the elementary grades who have non-verbal behaviors in the classroom exceed 60% while the advanced grade teachers less than 1/3 from the distribution of the non-verbal behavior statistics of teachers in all grades, which tells us there is a great difference in descriptive movements, symbolic movements, and deputy body language. In general, the total frequency of non-verbal behaviors of primary school music teachers is higher than that of advanced grade music teachers. This paper will provide some suggestions on the non-verbal behaviors for primary school music teachers from the aspects of music teachers themselves, music education researchers and educational functional departments in order to improve the effectiveness of classes for primary school music teachers and create a good atmosphere for teachers and students by providing a certain theoretical basis and practical materials according to the research results.
