The Study Of Foreign Literature Elective Textbooks' Selection And The Teaching In High School Chinese

At present,with the gradual progress of the new curriculum reform in our country,foreign literary works of various genres and themes are becoming part of high school language elective courses.They provide students the opportunity to understand and learn diverse cultural knowledge.However,based on the current situations,educators are facing many challenges in selection and teaching of foreign literary works in language elective courses.This thesis will use four foreign literary works published by People's Education Press as the sample of the study to analyze the selection and teaching of those materials in language elective courses.The thesis is categorized into three parts.First is to analyze those four foreign literary works individually and list the issues found in the selection and composition process.Second part of thesis is to investigate and interview the secondary schools that use those materials and summarize the problems from all sides.it also analyze the causes of the teaching dilemma from different aspects:teachers,students and teaching environment.The third and last part of thesis is to propose constructive recommendations for the selection and teaching of foreign literary works in language elective courses based on the humanistic nature of teaching,the diversity of language interpretation and the comparative literary concepts involved in learning foreign literature.High quality selection and composition of foreign literary works will help high school students to develop their own potential and understand different cultures that are represented by foreign literatures easily.Excellent teaching practices will effectivelyimprove students' individual accomplishments and cultivate humanities awareness and global vision of youth in a new era.
