As the future technology continues to cross-integration,the demand for compound talents is raised,and the current sub-discipline teaching cannot fully meet the needs of talent development in the 21st century.Since then,STEM education with the characteristics of subject integration has entered the international arena and has become popular.In recent years,STEM education has gradually become a trend of national strategic development policies in China.However,STEM teachers have insufficient teacher resources and low quality,which has become a development dilemma.STEM teachers'pre-employment training has become the key.After long-term practice and exploration,the STEM teachers in the United States have formed a relatively complete system and accumulated certain useful experience.Based on this,this study was conducted.This study takes the pre-service training of American STEM teachers as the research object,and uses the research methods such as literature research method,case study method and comparative research method to sort out the establishment background and national policy guarantee of the pre-service training of American STEM teachers.The training objectives,training content,training process,evaluation and certification,etc.are systematically summarized and reviewed in the pre-service training mode of American STEM teachers.At the same time,the United States selected two pre-employment STEM teacher education programs-the California Institute of Technology STAR project,the University of Texas at Austin UTeach project for further comprehensive and detailed research,found that the US STEM teacher pre-service It has certain reference significance for China in cultivating clear and clear training objectives,jointly integrating internal and external resources,providing continuous support for new teachers,constructing a professional learning community,and strengthening teaching practice.Drawing on the experience of pre-service training of STEM teachers in the United States,the future STEM pre-service teacher training in China can start from the following aspects:(1)incorporating strategic height,attaching importance to STEM education,and(2)grasping the training objectives and achieving precise training,(3)Enrich the training methods and mobilize multiple resources;(4)Construct assessment and certification,and broaden access channels.
