At present,the traditional teaching design still dominates the geography teaching in high school abroad and at home.The traditional geography teaching design of high school is focus on imparting knowledge.The teacher teaches the teaching content according to the teaching materials and the evaluation of the students' final exam is also based on the performance evaluation,which leads to the derailment of the teaching design and the actual teaching situation of high school geography.Students' autonomous learning ability is insufficient and they lack of practical inquiry ability.The teaching effect of teachers in the classroom is not ideal,which runs counter to the current high school geography teaching standards.In the new era,China needs to cultivate a group of new talents with strong abilities of analysis,exploration,practice and innovation.Therefore,the high school geography classroom needs a new teaching design mode and the backward teaching design is applied in this context.Backward Design is a goal-oriented instructional design,which is opposite to the traditional instructional design which is teacher-centered and based on the teaching materials.The Backward teaching design is a new type of teaching mode.It is a teaching mode starting from the end point that is called the teaching goal(expected goal).It can make up for the shortcomings of traditional teaching methods.It is a teaching design mode that designs and organizes teaching activities according to the ultimate goal.Therefore,in view of a series of problems in traditional teaching design,this paper puts forward the“Backward design model" of geography classroom teaching in senior high school from the perspective of backward teaching design and applies it to geography classroom.The purpose of this study is to improve teachers'awareness of teaching based on curriculum standards,and to abandon the traditional teaching design of fundamentalism and empiricism.The application of the backward design in geography teaching in senior high school can promote teaching from"knowledge-based" to"student-based" and realize the transformation of traditional teaching design.This topic focuses on how to apply the backward design model to the teaching of geography class in high school and provides a new backward design model for front-line teachers.Firstly,this thesis studies the current research situation of Backward teaching design abroad and at home and analyses the theory of Backward design which is mainly the theoretical source of Backward design and the basic connotation and characteristics of Backward design,followed by the investigation of the current situation of geography teaching Backward design in senior high school and the conclusions about the problems existing in it.Then it analyses the theory of the backward design model in high school geography teaching mainly from four aspects:the necessity,the feasibility,the basic principle and the problems that should be paid attention to of applying it to high school geography teaching.Finally the author designs the operation procedure of high school geography teaching backward design combined with the specific case that is The Water Cycle in Nature provides a detailed analysis of the operating procedures.The purpose of this study is to help front-line geography teachers understand the backward teaching design more thoroughly.The purpose is to improve students'understanding and feeling of geography class,to be conducive to the current high school geography education and curriculum reform in China and to provide an effective reference for the follow-up study of geography education.
