The preschool stage is a crucial period for the development of early childhood reading ability. The neglect of early reading ability will lead to the problem of dyslexia for children entering primary school, and it will also directly affect the academic performance of children after entering primary school.A large number of foreign studies have shown that early reading ability of young children is related to their emotions and behaviors, but there are only a handful of domestic researches on this aspect. Therefore, the study explores the correlation between emotional behavioral adaptation and early reading ability of children aged 5-6 years, and fills the domestic research vacancies. In this paper,90 kindergarten children from a kindergarten in Tianjin were selected as subjects. The children's strengths and difficulties questionnaire(parental version)and early reading ability test were used to investigate the emotional status of children's emotional behavior, the development of early reading ability and the relationship between them. The children's^strengths and difficulties questionnaire includes five parts:emotional symptoms, conduct problems, hyperactivity and inattention problems, peer relationships, and prosocial behavior.Early reading ability test includes six parts:phonological awareness, syntactic awareness, phonological memory, working memory, sentence comprehension and visual discrimination. The results showed that:(1)The early reading ability of children aged 5-6 years was low,and children had lower levels of working memory and sentence comprehension.(2)The emotional behavior of children aged 5-6 years is well adapted. Each of these factors is normal.Young children have significant gender differences in emotional behavior, especially insufficient attention.(3)The emotional adaptation of children aged 5-6 years was significantly associated with early reading ability.(4)5-6 years old children's character problems, lack of concentration and early reading ability are significantly related.Among them, the lack of concentration of children's attention and early reading ability is higher than the issue of conduct.Based on the above research results, the following educational recommendations are proposed:(1)targeted guidance on strengthening sentence comprehension in early reading;(2)shaping good reading habits and developing effective attention;(3)attaching importance to adult demonstration and creating Good psychological atmosphere;(4)attach importance to daily life education and cultivate good habits of children.
