Mathematics literacy is getting increasingly popular recently.The study of Mathematics literacy in China started after the year 2000,which is much later than that in other countries.As for the study object,the study of Mathematics literacy focuses on its development in primary and middle school while in pre-schools,Mathematics literacy is rarely paid attention to.Students in Normal schools are probably the pre-school teachers and are probably going to be the mentors and leaders in pre-school math education.So their Mathematics literacy determines the quality of pre-school mathematical education and influences the development of math in the long run.In modern society,along with the Two-Child Policy,there are more and more babies,which requires a large number of pre-school educators.All kinds of Normal schools at various levels shall bear the responsibility of cultivating preschool educators that are qualified for the social needs.But the Mathematics literacy in Normal schools is worrying.Improvement in Mathematics literacy of the students in Normal schools will not only meet the need of providing great educators for Preschools but also meet the need of the development of the individual all-round development.This paper takes normal school students as its major study objects.Based on the theories about Mathematics literacy from both domestic and foreign research and the nature of math education,this paper will find out the common parts between math education in preschools and math education in normal schools,and will take the ‘Shape' as the starting point,take the ‘Combination of number and shape' as a breakthrough,and finally find out an approach to improving the Mathematics literacy of normal school students with the help of literature analysis and study of questionnaires and interviews.Major parts of this paper are as follows: 1 the present situation of math education in Normal schools.2 Command of the concept ‘Combination of number and shape'.3To determine whether the concept of ‘Combination of number and shape' has stimulated interest in learning Math is Normal schools.4 To explore the causes of the results through the analysis of the questionnaires and interviews and to make reflections and give suggestions to improve Mathematics literacy of normal school students.This paper aims at the research of normal school teachers and students;analyses the present situation of math education in normal schools;combines the objectives and content of psychological characteristics of preschool math education;takes the concept of ‘combination number and shape as a starting point and studies the influence that the concept of ‘Combination of number and shape' has on normal school students.1 Switch roles,focus on learning.2 Understand the concepts unity reality and abstraction.3 Develop thinking skills and build confidence in learning Math.4 Appreciation the beauty of Math promote interest in learning Math.5 Combine theory with practice improve students Mathematics literacy.
