Traditional archery is a great creation in the history of Chinese civilization,which contains rich cultural connotation.However,due to various reasons,the development of traditional archery in China was once interrupted in modern times.In recent years,with the improvement of people's living standards,the national fitness campaign began to rise,and the government also issued various relevant policies to support,and traditional archery began to get the attention and favor of the people.As a multi-ethnic region specializing in traditional archery,Qinghai has successfully held many international and domestic archery competitions,and its popularity and influence of traditional archery are constantly expanding.This paper makes a systematic study on the development of traditional archery in Qinghai province through the methods of field investigation,literature review and expert interview.This paper focuses on the historical origin,regional classification,development status,significance and difficulties of Qinghai traditional archery project.At the same time,the development model of traditional archery in Qinghai was explored and analyzed,and the following conclusions were finally drawn:1.The traditional archery project in Qinghai has a long history,and there are many opinions on its origin.Tombs and rock paintings show that the bow and arrow in Qinghai appeared in the Stone Age.The folk origin of qutan temple and larongbeji dorje is only a folk legend,which can not be verified.Qinghai archery originated from the saying of “red hat“,which is supported by historical documents and recognized by many people in the industry,so it is more credible.2.According to the areas,Qinghai traditional archery is divided into“HuangShui valley“ and “the Yellow River valley,and the two sides in the vessel,please arrows,with rivals,the respect such as the opening ceremony is roughly same,but in the infinite,the rules of the game,sacrifice on the process and way of hospitality,the two together constitute the cultural system of traditional archery in Qinghai.3.Qinghai traditional archery has a large population and a good mass base;thereare never shortages of using in these places.However,the infrastructure of archery venues is uneven,and some of them need to be improved.4.In terms of archery tools,due to pure manual manufacturing,the traditional Qinghai hornbow production process is complex and time-consuming,and craftsmen are scarce;In addition to the impact of foreign sports culture and other factors,Qinghai traditional hornbow status is worrying.5.So far,the development of traditional archery in Qinghai has been hindered to some extent by the single market structure of sports,the need to improve the facilities in some towns and villages,the insufficient funds needed for relevant competitions and the shortage of talents.6.In recent years,traditional archery competitions in Qinghai have been well developed,with the scale,number and variety of competitions continuously expanding.The traditional archery competitions in Qinghai have entered a prosperous period.7.The development of the traditional archery project in Qinghai can not only promote the local economic development in Qinghai,but also contribute to regional ethnic unity and social stability,as well as the inheritance of folk sports culture in Qinghai and the overall development of Qinghai sports industry.8.The future development path of traditional archery projects in Qinghai should be based on the actual situation of qinghai province,take archery leisure as the theme,actively explore the new development mode of “sports town“,build a featured archery sports town integrating multiple functions,and facilitate the development of sports industry in Qinghai.
