The chemistry expression,a unique and special language of chemistry subject,is one of the significant symbol to distinguish it from other subjects,and is the most basic and important part in chemistry.How much the students know chemistry expressions directly influences their learning in chemistry,so chemical knowledge learning in junior middle school,as the foundation for further study asks students to learn a lot of chemistry expressions.It is the basic requirement for junior middle school students to write chemistry expressions correctly and skillfully use them to do thinking and learning.In this paper,students' questionnaire research on the learning chemistry expressions and learning methods of chemistry expressions in junior eight and teachers' questionnaire research on the teaching situation of chemical terms in junior three are used as the basis.This paper is divided into six parts: introduction,relative theory foundations,investigation on the teaching status of chemical terms in junior eight,the improvement measures in chemistry expressions teaching strategies in junior middle school,analysis of teaching efficiency and problems and prospects.With chemistry expressions knowledge as a carrier,questionnaires distributed to students and teachers respectively and the interview of teachers provide some information about the teaching status of chemical terms for students in grade eight and some problems are found in chemistry expressions studying among students as follows:1.Most students learn in a mechanical,single way,making low classroom efficiency.2.Most students realize the importance of chemistry expressions but lack interest and enthusiasm.3.Students don't understand the feature of chemistry expressions as a tool,and have weak awareness of application.4.It is very difficult to transform the triple representations into each other.The disadvantages of teachers' original teaching strategies are lack of guidance on the learning methods of chemistry expressions,lack of in-depth teaching of micro characterization,lack of a sense that chemistry serves life and that they don't pay attention to the embodiment of students' subject status.According to existing problems and causes analysis,combined with some related theory study,some improvement measures in teaching strategies are put forward for chemical elements and symbols,chemical formulas and chemical equations:1.The improvement measure in chemical elements and symbols teaching strategy:(1)Play games to help memorize in advance as an assisted instruction.(2)Use combination of “macro-micro-symbols” for integration of memory.(3)Adopt integration of Chinese and western style and combination of chemical experiment and chemistry expressions to develop skills.2.The improvement measure in chemical formulas teaching strategy:(1)Use model teaching to help establish the relations among “macro-micro-symbols”.(2)Encourage student to learn chemistry everywhere and cultivate the habit to use the correct chemical formulas consciously.(3)Let chemistry enter into our daily life and learn chemistry every day.3.The improvement measure in chemical equations teaching strategies:(1)Adopt group cooperation to build new knowledge system.(2)Use the triple representation of“reading-writing-using” to build inner link.According to the analysis of the teaching efficiency of control class and experimental class,conclusion can be made that the improvement measures in chemistry expressions teaching strategies has made great progress: they not only make it easier for students to acquire the basic knowledge in chemistry expressions,but also promote their application ability of chemistry expressions.In teaching practice,we will continue to expand the scope and depth of research,strengthen the comprehensive monitoring of the classroom,and further improve the pertinence and feasibility of teaching strategy improvement.
