Orienteering is one kind of sports that is of wits and strength,involving competition,military,recreation,tourism and adventure.Particip ating various orienteering activities,which can improve participants' physical fitness and psychological quality,as well as broaden their knowledge and capability especially these are associated with socialization,self-confidence and resolving problems independently.All above merits are conducive to education for all-around development,therefore,orienteering has been widespread throught our educational system.Chinese orienteering events are increasing at an alarming rate,along with the rapid development of domestic sport industry.According to a research,for example,over 400 orienteering activities were held in China in 2018,including the world's top competition such as World Orienteering Qualifying as well as domeatic well-known orienteering brand events such as Orienteering tour of Yangtze river delta and Orienteering league of south guangdong and Orienteering league of beijing.The orienteering map(O-maps)is the most essential element of orienteering activities,however,generating O-maps is often regarded as a main constraint on development of this sport.At person,professional orienteering map-makers are less 30 in China,according to Chinese Orienteering Association,which cannot meet the demand of nowadays orienteering activities.In.this paper,arguing that a new technology is applied to generate orienteering maps,named Real Time Kinematic(RTK).A series methods of the research include document literature(bibliographical information,interverw of experts,experimentation and contrast analysis.The research is aim at the application of RTK is utilized in the process of generating orienteering maps.A qusetionnaire survey of post-competitions which used RTK to generate O-maps.Based on the analysing these information,drawing the following conclusions:1.RTK can improve the accuracy of cartography.2.RTK is more efficient than other methods.3.RTK reduces costs of cartography.4.RTK improve the quality of O-maps.
