The trigonometric functions(trig functions)learned in senior high school are based on the trig functions learned in junior high school.There are more content and upgraded difficulty,which leads to an increased frequency of mistakes when students solving the problems of trig functions.Based on Weiner's attribution theory,this paper studies the causes of trig function problem solving errors from the following four aspects: the concept,properties,image and comprehensive application of trig functions;and summaries the main factors of each type of error and provides the relevant teaching solutions for reducing students to make mistakes of the trig function problems solving.This paper will be divided into five parts.The first part introduces the significance of error attribution in the problem solving of trig functions for senior high school students;states the attribution theory and the research status of trig function errors in both domestic and overseas.The second part illustrates the concepts of error,mathematical error and Weiner's attribution theory.The third part will be derived from three steps.Firstly,interviewing students who are involved the investigation and understanding the types of trig function problem solving errors for students;Secondly,drawing up a test paper about trig functions according to the consequences of the interview and analyzing all testing results.Finally,determining four types of problem solving errors on trig functions,which consistent with the analysis results of interviews and test papers.At the same time,designing a questionnaire of trig function error attribution based on Weiner's attribution theory,and distributing questionnaires to the year-two students in the investigated senior high school.The fourth part of this paper confirms that the main factors of each type of error through descriptive analysis and Anova of the questionnaire.In the fifth part,according to the analysis of the questionnaire outcomes,making the teaching solutions for trigonometric functions on the account of the concept,properties,images and comprehensive application of trigonometric functions.
