| Grandfather’s Garden is an excerpt from Xiao Hong’s classic Tales of Hulan River Chapter III,Section one.This article was included in multiple versions of Chinese textbooks with slightly different titles.The author used a purely child perspective,natural and sincere child language to describe the free and happy childhood of “mine” in grandfather’s garden,which filled with innocence and affection between grandfather and grandchild.Also,Grandfather’s Garden was full of Xiao Hong’s unique creative style in terms of language features and writing techniques.For such a classic piece of literature,to determine the effective teaching value is an extremely important issue for every Chinese teacher.Therefore,this thesis takes the narrative prose Grandfather’s Garden in the second volume of primary school fifth grade Chinese textbook(People’s Education Press)as the research object,carries out the teaching research on this particular article to investigate the teaching status quo and sort out the teaching value.The research of this thesis mainly includes three parts:The first chapter investigates the teaching status quo for Grandpa’s Garden.I collect 21 teaching lesson examples published on the Internet and dissertation periodical.Through the analysis of the teaching objectives and teaching activities of these lesson examples,we can understand the teaching status quo of the front-line teachers for the Grandfather’s Garden and analyze the problems for Grandfather’s Garden in practical teaching.The second chapter investigates the selection of textbooks for Grandfather’s Garden.I select four versions of Chinese textbooks(People’s Education Press,Jiangsu Education Press,Shanghai Education Press and Shangdong Education Press)as the research objects and investigate mainly into four aspects of these textbooks,namely segment distributions,unit layouts,pre-lecture tips,and exercise settings in order to grasp the teachingvalue from different versions of textbooks.The third chapter,a textual interpretation of Grandfather’s Garden is made.First of all,we analyze the style of the article Grandfather’s Garden.Secondly,it is interpreted from two aspects of this article: Children’s Perspective and "Children’s Language."The fourth chapter proposes teaching suggestions for the article Grandpa’s Garden.Based on the contents of the previous two chapters,and based on the interpretation of the text,the author puts forward suggestions for the teaching of Grandfather’s Garden so as to provide some reference for the teaching of the current first-line teachers. |
