Study On The Application Of Social Work In Family Caregivers Of Mentally Handicapped Children

"Juvenile wisdom is the national wisdom,young people are wealthy,and young people are strong." However there is a special kind of child,a mentally handicapped child,whose mental disability and defects will accompany them for the rest of their lives based on the current medical level and rehabilitation conditions.During this period,the family caregivers who gave them silently suffered from the extraordinary economic pressure of the ordinary family,and suffered from the surrounding discrimination and alienation.However,such complicated problems as economic pressure and trauma were not paid attention to.To solve this problem,there is very little support and attention to the “behind the hero” of family caregivers.Based on the status quo,this paper takes the special education school of Lixin County,Anhui Province as an example,and uses the professional methods of social work--case interviews and group work to conduct practical research on family caregivers of children with intellectual disabilities.Using questionnaires and participatory observation methods to explore the basic status of family caregivers of children with intellectual disabilities,to deeply understand and analyze the current problems and actual needs of family caregivers,and to sort out the data of questionnaires through SPSS data analysis software.And assessments to provide targeted support for group challenges to the challenges faced by family caregivers of children with intellectual disabilities.Through the development and implementation of this research activity,we call on all levels of society to pay attention to family caregivers of children with intellectual disabilities,and on this basis,provide supplementary and tentative suggestions and opinions on relevant welfare services and support,thereby alleviating and improving The situation of family caregivers of children with intellectual disabilities.The study found that family caregivers of children with intellectual disabilities urgently need to obtain material welfare support and protection in the basic life process,and need to obtain mutual respect and establish a healthy social network such as self-help and mutual help in personal and mutual relations,in personal growth and development.There is a need for access to medical rehabilitation knowledge and the need to continuously improve self-efficacy.Based on this,based on the experience of advanced scholars at home and abroad,based on the actual needs of family caregivers of children with intellectual disabilities,the following assumptions are put forward: exerting the power of administration,building a solid backing,improving social security policies,and improving the coverage of welfare.Create a social culture of “affinity”;guide multi-party forces to participate,coordinate social resources,promote the development of social organizations for family caregivers of mentally handicapped children,promote the establishment and improvement of social support service systems for families with intellectual disabilities;focus on the strength of social workers,and enhance Professional service quality,and provide support services for capacity building as much as possible.
