Research On Work Innovation Of College Counselors Based On WeChat Platform

As President Xi Jinping said at the National Education Conference,“the top priority of education is the cultivation of people.” He further stated that the fundamental task of education is to foster socialist builders and successors.In order to strengthen moral education and cultivate people,the ideological and political work in college is of great significance.And college counselors,who play an indispensable role in the work,have become a hot research field in the discipline of ideological and political education in terms of their professionalism.Research and discussion on the professionalism of college counselors have never ceased.And more intensive study on counselors has been done since the enactment of No.31 Document and No.43 Law by the Ministry of Education,considering the requirements of the new era to ensure the moral,intellectual,physical,aesthetics and labor education of socialist builders and successors with the background of the media era.To conform to the characteristics of the times and the requirements of talent cultivation,this paper,based on college counselors' practical use of WeChat to aid their daily ideological and political work,discusses the necessity and possibility of making innovation in their work through WeChat.Guided by Marxist communication theory and relevant communication theories,this paper discusses the innovation strategies through WeChat for college counselors from the perspective of combining theoretical innovation with practice,with an aim of enhancing the effectiveness of counselors' work.The final purpose is to promote students' all-round growth through making innovation in counselors' work on WeChat.As for the research methods,because the topic of college counselors' work is both application and theory-oriented,the paper adopts the methods of current situation research and case study research.Based on a deep analysis of some typical cases of counselors' doing work on WeChat nowadays,the paper summarizes the internal causes and essential law,and explores innovation tools based on the current situation.As for the content,the paper focuses on two aspects.First,it aims at proving the necessity of making innovations of college counselors' work through WeChat,as it is indispensable for improving their work in this media era.Second,it elaborates on the implementation strategies of making these innovations.In this part,on the basis of the status-quo of college counselors' work on WeChat,it further clarifies the concept,content,and methods of making these innovations.Apart from Introduction and Conclusion,this paper includes four chapters.The first chapter makes a general overview of college counselors' work on WeChat.It focuses on explaining "how college counselors do their work through WeChat" and mainly includes three aspects,that is,basic connotation,theoretical basis and requirements of the era.In terms of the connotation,the paper starts from explaining the basic functions and features of WeChat.In terms of the theoretical basis,the paper discusses Marxist Communication Theory,Field Theory in Communication,and Marcuse' s Ethical Theory of Science and Technology,which serve as the guidance for college counselors in conducting their ideological and political work through WeChat.In terms of the times background,it discusses the new requirements of the media era on college counselors' work in concept,content,method,and professionalism.The second chapter is status analysis of college counselors' usage of WeChat to conduct their work.Based on their practical work,an analysis of college counselors' current usage of WeChat to do ideological and political education work is made in terms of their achievements,problems,and reasons behind the problems.Considering the characteristics of WeChat platform and the internal requirements of college counselors' work,it proposes that this method has made some achievements such as broadening the field of ideological and political education,optimizing the method of ideological and political education,and meeting the requirements of the people being educated.Furthermore,it has made an analysis of the influence of the method as WeChat platform also has some limitations.Besides,it explores the reasons for some problems from the perspective of the nation,university,and counselors themselves.The third chapter is to do research on a few good examples of college counselors who have used WeChat well in doing their job.Through case analysis,it classifies some typical excellent cases in which the college counselors have used WeChat well in making work innovation;and then a summary of their successful experience and major characteristics is made.It is concluded that excellent counselors,when using WeChat platform in work,should adhere to their ideological position,face the common problems of students,understand the needs of students in time in their process of growth,and strive to set a work standard;and they should also pay attention to the agenda setting,all-round inculcation and analysis and reflection in their work,as well as teamwork.The fourth chapter is to do research on the innovation strategy of college counselors in doing work on WeChat platform.Based on the results of status analysis and case analysis,as well as the basic theories of Marxism,the paper,from the perspective of system theory,elaborates on college counselors' work on WeChat in terms of concept innovation,content innovation,form innovation,and student cultivation system.It is advised that the emphasis should be put on the interaction between the country,school,and counselors;teachers should meet students' needs,serve students in the process of their growth,and get closer to students' life;more work should be done to make good use of the functions of WeChat such as “moments”,“subscriptions”,and “mini programs”;and improvement should be made in the cultivation mechanism of students,communication mechanism for students and teachers,and appraisal mechanism of teachers.
