Circumference and area are one of the important contents in mathematics learning.The concept of perimeter and area of rectangle and the corresponding calculation are the basis of other graph calculation.It is difficult for the third grade students to understand the concept of area and calculate the rectangular area.This study is through to the third grade students to calculate the perimeter and the area of a rectangular circumference and related application test,according to the analysis of the problem solving,sum up the reason for the error,and puts forward some correction strategy,its application in actual teaching,the teachers' teaching and students' learning offer certain guidance.According to the new third grade mathematics textbooks and related theoretical basis,the research tool--"rectangular square circumference area knowledge test volume" was compiled.An investigation was made on the mistakes of the third grade students in the application of knowledge about the rectangular perimeter area in dalate banner No.10 primary school and Wangaizhao town central primary school in Ordos.At the same time,in order to improve the research,make the interview of individual students and the relevant teachers,to understand the students' solving ideas,the reasons for errors and various factors of the teachers',so as to find the reasons for errors,and correction strategies accurately and more perfectly.When solving the problems related to the area of the rectangle's circumference,primary school students make mistakes in the following aspects:the concept of area and perimeter is not clear;the formula of circumference and area is confused;wrong company name selection;lack of spatial imagination;error in advance rate between units;lack of mathematical modeling awareness;weak on the concept of area conservation;careless or miscalculated;unclear of what the topic is.For the above reasons,the proposed strategies are:the concepts of perimeterand area are established in various ways;deepen the understanding of the concepts of perimeter and area in teaching new lessons and basic exercises;pay attention to understand the meaning of the area perimeter formula,develop students' measurement concept;pay attention to the students to the area unit and the length unit actual significance understanding;computational reasoning and diversified intuitive inquiry activities help students master the rate of progression between area units;combining action representation to help students build models;pay attention to cultivate students' concept of area conservation;train students to study seriously and carefully.
