At present,globalization continues to deepen,the knowledge economy is developing at a rapid pace,and knowledge has become an important emerging strategic resource under the social environment.The competition of scientific and technological innovation and knowledge innovation is becoming more and more prominent all over the world.Improving the level of national independent innovation and innovation-driven development has become an important strategy for the development of knowledge economy.Universities have proven to be an important place to create new knowledge,playing a pivotal role in radical innovation,leading and promoting revolutionary breakthroughs in national knowledge and technology.Under the background of open innovation era,knowledge networks have grown stronger and stronger.Cross-disciplinary,inter-agency and cross-national knowledge cooperation has become the internal demand of global scientific research development and has gradually become the mainstream trend.By measuring and portraying the knowledge cooperation network formed between China's universities,this paper analyzes the structural characteristics of China's university knowledge cooperation network,the influencing factors of cooperation and network evolution mechanism,and then grasps the characteristics of knowledge flow and knowledge diffusion among universities,and understands the knowledge cooperation network of universities.The current model is of great significance to the effective integration of knowledge resources in various universities,to enhance the overall strength of colleges and universities,and to promote national innovation strength.On the basis of combing the relevant theory and literature,this study takes 973 universities in China as the research samples,and uses the total amount of papers published in 2006 and 2016,the amount of papers co-authored and the related data of university attributes as the basic data,to construct the knowledge cooperation networkof China's colleges and universities.By using the methods of geospatial analysis,social network analysis,statistical measurement and related software,this paper probes into the spatial-temporal evolution pattern of the knowledge cooperation network in Chinese universities,and based on the perspective of multi-dimensional proximity,This paper also studies the influencing factors of knowledge cooperation in universities in China and the evolution mechanism of China's universities knowledge cooperation network.At last,it summarizes the beneficial enlightenment and policy suggestions.The study found that:(1)The network scale of knowledge cooperation in universities in China continues to expand and the “small-world” of the network are remarkable;the university centrality heterogeneity is obvious,each university network status change is not big,the university cooperation connection presents the heterogamy;the knowledge cooperation network of colleges and universities has the hierarchical network structure of "core-half edge-edge" and the stable university communities.(2)The strength of knowledge cooperation in universities in China continues to grow,the spatial distribution is uneven,and the whole space structure is dense in the east and sparse in the west;the spatial relationship of universities shows a certain attenuation law of geographical distance.There are more high-intensity and long-distance relations between 985 universities and 211 universities,which have strong comprehensive strength.(3)The intensity of knowledge cooperation is directly proportional to the strength of the academic strength of cooperative universities.Geographic proximity,institutional proximity,social proximity,and cognitive proximity promote the promotion of knowledge cooperation in colleges and universities.With the passage of time,the characteristics of “cognitive locking” in the knowledge cooperation network between universities have been fading.(4)The structural characteristics of the university's knowledge cooperationnetwork,the university's own attributes and the proximity of each dimension of the university have promoted the evolution of the network.The most critical factors that promote colleges to maintain or establish knowledge partnerships are geographic proximity,Internet development degree,cognitive proximity,and institutional proximity.
