In many years,the occurrence of cognitive processes and the improvement of cognitive efficiency have attracted the attention of educational and psychological academic circles.The embodied cognition theory,which become a focus in cognitive psychology recently,emphasizes the close relationship between cognitive occurrence and physical action,which provides a new way of thinking and direction for the instructional design.Meanwhile,with the continuous development and popularization of new technologies,the human-computer interaction technique has made a qualitative leap.Especially in the field of games,natural interaction is becoming a technological pursuit to improve the user experience.Extensive physical activity is possible during the game supported by motion-sensing technology,which provides a practical basis for the verification of embodied cognition theory.Therefore,from the perspective of embodied cognition theory,this paper conducts the research on the game design and development based on embodied cognition to improve the practical application effect of the motion-sensing educational games.This paper begins with a review of relevant research at home and abroad,explains key concepts and terms,and summarizes the theoretical basis such as embodied cognition theory and flow theory.Then,the paper analyses the elements for the occurrence of embodied cognition,and corresponds them to the design elements of motion-sensing educational games,which consolidates the theoretical relationship between them.According to the design elements,the paper summarizes the principles and the motion-sensing game design and application model based on embodied cognition theory.Under the guidance of the game design elements,principles,design and application model,the reseach selecting the students of Grade Eight and English vocabulary learning,develops a motion-sensing educational games based on the embodied cognition and its management platform using the Kinect.According to the design,students can play the game to learn words and teachers can manage students and learning resources while mastering learning progress through the management platform.After the use of the game and platform,the experimental results show that the motion-sensing educational game based on embodied cognition has a certain positive impact on students' English vocabulary learning,which proves the effectiveness of the motion-sensing educational game based on embodied cognition proposed in this paper.The research combines theory with practice,and introduces and explains the design,development process and results of the actual cases based on analysing the theory and designing the model.Then,the paper conducts an experiment and analyzes experimental data.In conclusion,the study provides a theoretical and practical reference for the educational application of embodied cognition theory and motionsensing technology.
