With the development of network technology and communication technology, informatization and digitization become an irresistible trend. In education, more and more advantages of applying information technology have been found. Information technology education can not only improve education quality, but also to promote the cultivation of innovative talents, which is undoubtedly in accordance with the new curriculum and the core of the reform concept. With the new curriculum reform deepening, the concepts of people-oriented and happy learning have been accepted by more and more people; Computer Educational Games came into being. Computer Educational Games evolutes with the development of information technology. The process from the games to computer games becoming an industry made a detailed record of the games for the value of human beings. But, with the development of the computer game industry, new games have emerged. More and more people, especially young people were indulged in electronic games, while many commercial games full of sex and violence content have seriously affected the mental health of young people. For many educators, building green games for youth and creating a healthier environment for the growth become their focus of concern. Recently, the education sector experts and scholars have also tried to find the combination points among educational games, school education and teaching, so that it will be better to play advantage. As the implementation of China's education reform, education for all-around development and innovate education become the focus of primary school. In this environment, the educational games arouse more and more students, teachers and education experts'attention. How to make the game integrate into the educational and teaching process naturally and seamlessly become the biggest problem in the development of educational games .In this paper, we made a depth analysis in the characteristics of educational games and situated cognition theory so as to introduce the design of educational games. We also describe the advantages of this game.In this paper, the theory of situated cognition and development has been described, and then, a detailed analysis of the theory of context-aware content and characteristics have been made. Situational awareness and situational teaching model also have been made a simple introduction. The concepts of the games, computer games and game of education have been described, a detailed analysis of the education at home and abroad have been made and education characteristics of the game was summed up with the summary. We demonstrated the advantages of English educational games based on the situational awareness and made a detailed introduction on game design. At the basis of the theory to explore, we select parts of《Family Album U.S.A》for a game design. The characteristics of this study are that English teaching game has been improved to design on situated cognition theory, the design of the game is more in line with the characteristics of English language learning. Learners focus on listening, speaking, pay attention to the creation of context in games and pay attention to learner autonomy.
