Research On Contemporary Chinese College Students’ Hedonistic Tendency And Education

Hedonism has been criticized as a negative life value,but its followers and practitioners are countless.The reason is that not only the attraction of material enjoyment and physical pleasure itself,but also the tremendous changes in social life which provide sufficient hedonic conditions.For a long time,the research on hedonism has been concentrated some groups except for college students.However,college students are also affected by social hedonism,and some people have a hedonistic tendency.It is very urgent and significant to study the hedonism about college students.College students are the reserve army of elite groups.They represent the hope of the society and the nation.Whether the group develops well or not will affect the future of the country.Negative values like hedonism itself have great infectivity and harmfulness.College students are immature due to physical and psychological reasons,and their resistance is weak.In addition,the group of college students is in critical period of value formation.Negative values like hedonism will weaken the effect of correct value education.Therefore,the research on their hedonism must be taken seriously.In the first part,it describes the development history of hedonism theory,based on the research of existing achievements first.Secondly,it focuses on distinguishing and combing the three forms of hedonism that have been confused by some researchers,namely hedonistic theory,hedonistic ethos and hedonistic values.The concept of hedonism in this article is clear in the sense of values.Finally,it clarifies the connotation and basic characteristics of hedonism in the sense of values.The second part mainly expounds the specific manifestations and negative influence of hedonism among college students.Firstly,the specific performance of college students’ hedonism tends to be manifested in three aspects.Some college students fall into consumerism and they are addicted to fashion consumption to enjoy happiness.They think of leisure activities as pure entertainment and are greedy for entertainment on the web.They don’t like to study,just want to have fun.Secondly,it discusses the harm of college students’ hedonistic tendency to college students and campus culture.The third part mainly discusses the root causes of hedonistic tendency of college students.Under the second part of the analysis,deep exploration is from two aspects: external environmental factors and individual factors.Firstly,it points out the essential factor of hedonism in the social environment which allures and guides college students to hedonism.Secondly,some college students have distorted individual values,lacking rational ability and self-control,so it is difficult to identify and resist the hedonic factors in society.The fourth part focuses on the educational countermeasures to resist the hedonistic tendency of college students.Combining the characterization and cause analysis of this problem,three measures are proposed: First,strengthen the posit ive guidance of correct values.Students can correctly recognize happiness and labor,and cultivate the spirit of hard struggle.Secondly,increase the critical education of negative values like hedonism.Through the rational arrangement of content and the appropriate use of educational methods,college students have a clear understanding of hedonism and are consciously away from hedonism.Finally,the students are guided to distinguish between reasonable enjoyment and hedonism.They should enhance the ability of rational analysis and discerning by increasing the curriculum and self-training.
