The Study On Family Acceptance Of Homosexual Coming Out

In the social environment of China,"homosexual coming out of the closet" means that homosexual open their sexual orientation,which is their personal choice.Previous researches have focused on holistic and comprehensive macro-level research on homosexual groups,or micro-level studies on individual behaviors,emotions,and cognition.Studies on family acceptance of homosexual coming out are worthy of attention.With the expansion of public space and the diversification of discourse,more and more homosexuals choose to come out and expose their sexual orientation to their family and the society,which makes both homosexuals and parents bear triple pressure of their own,the outside world and the tradition.Facing this circumstance,it is particularly necessary for family acceptance studies of homosexual.In this study,homosexuals who came out of the closet and their parents in F City of South China were used as research objects,using qualitative research methods to explore the dynamic process of homosexuals' parents accepting their children,especially the dilemmas faced by both parents and children and how to change the attitudes,mentality and behavior in this process.After analyzing the materials,the research shows that: First,homosexual and their parents face different levels of dilemma under the influence of self-phobia,social and traditional stigma,leading parents to refuse to accept homosexual children.Second,the deconstruction of homosexuals' parent Cognitive-set frame,construction of parent-child relationships and civil organizations helping are the key factor to help parents further acceptance of homosexual children.Third,parents and children re-construct a new family role,and are committed to constructing a good social environment to reduce the possibility of family stigma,finally,national recognition is to promote the development of the group and help more families to accept their homosexuals' children,to adapt to the new family model.In general,homosexual coming out of the closet is a question and challenge of traditional heterosexual culture.This study is not limited to the personal identification and family acceptance of small aspect.Therefore,in addition to analyzing how parents complete acceptance in multiple dilemmas,this study also extends to the developmental problems of the group,and puts homosexual coming out of closet into the background of the social environment and seeks collective liberation.Borrowing a parent's words is "the small family is harmonious,and the big group will slowly develop towards the good side." This study explores the intergenerational conflicts in the process of homosexual coming out from the perspective of family relations,providing information support and appropriate rights expression for homosexual and their families,in order to help homosexual to provide a path to deal with their relationship with their native families and improve their living conditions,enrich and develop diverse social culture and ensure social harmony and stability.
