The concept of chemistry is the reflection of the essential attributes of chemical things.The key to flexibly analyzing and solving chemical problems for students is to firmly and accurately grasp the basic chemical concepts.Applying the relatively intuitive model method to teaching can visualize some abstract concepts and achieve an effective combination of abstraction and image thinking.Therefore,in order to help students understand and master the concept of chemistry better,it is of practical significance and practical value to try to apply the model method to the teaching of chemical concepts.This study firstly conducts a detailed analysis of the teaching status and related theories of model methods and chemical concepts.Then,a middle school in Chengdu,Sichuan Province is selected as a sample of the survey.Interviews and questionnaires are conducted among teachers and students in this school.This paper reflects the present situation of chemistry concept teaching and learning in the first grade of senior high school from the perspectives of teachers and students,and analyzes the characteristics of teaching and learning of teachers and students,as well as the existing problems.On this basis,aiming at the key chemical concepts in the first and second chapters of the "Chemistry 1" of the teaching version,mathematical models,physical models and conceptual models are established for the chapters of "Gas Molar Volume","Ionization of acid,alkali and salt in aqueous solution" and "Redox Reaction" respectively,and they are combined with the four levels and links of "feeling","understanding","application" and "evaluation" in the teaching theory of model method,the teaching design is carried out,which further contrasts with the traditional teaching design.In the end,the paper summarizes the effect of the chemical concept teaching through the test of students' test papers and the observation of teachers in the classroom and finally draws the following conclusions by using the model method:(1)The model method helps students understand and master the basic concepts of chemistry and effectively improve their academic performance;(2)The application of the model method helps students to better construct the knowledge framework and change the way students learn concepts;(3)The application of model methods to the teaching of chemical concepts changes the concept of teacher's concept teaching,which is conducive to teachers to further improve concept teaching strategy;(4)The application of the model method to the teaching of chemical concepts effectively stimulates students' interest in learning and improves their initiative.
