| "Teacher centered" teaching has been prevalent in China for a long time.Teachers used to control students strictly,which means students’ learning autonomy was lost and learning space was small.Since the eighth curriculum reform,as the "student center" idea was gradually spreading,teachers had to reduce teaching control,but overkill,resulting in such questions as classroom orientation deleted,Chinese characteristics digested,high consumption but low efficiency.Many teachers feel difficult to grasp the reasonable scale of classroom control,which has become a great difficulty for Chinese teaching practice in the turning period of curriculum reform.Because the control in teaching is difficult to be quantitatively described,we use dichotomy approach to explore the "tight teaching" and "loose teaching" and“appropriate teaching”.Based on a large number of cases,it is found that beyond coercion teaching,the goals are deviated,contents are narrow,teaching process is compulsory and teaching evaluation is variant;beyond indulgence teaching,goal orientation is lost,contents are broad,teaching process is free,and the evaluation of study is lack.Based on these,we constructed an appropriate teaching model,which means a certain degree of orientation in goal,a moderately open space in contents,a certain degree of guidance in the process,and an affirmative evaluation of views.On this basis,a teaching control examination form is established.On the one hand,specific examples are used to demonstrate self-testing methods based on controlled checklists.On the other hand,the overall status of current teacher control is investigated through the checklist.The findings are as follows: current teachers are generally biased towards compulsory teaching and the control is tight in teaching objectives and teaching content but more moderate in teaching implementation and evaluation.In terms of gender,age of teaching,and teaching grade,the factors ofteaching age have the greatest influence on teacher control.With the increase of the teaching age,the teacher’s control appears from loose to tight,which following by a tight-to-loose swing. |
