The Case Study On Intervention Of Children With Tourette Syndrome In Satir Model Of Family Therapy

Tourette syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by rapid,repeated and high frequency involuntary twitching and vocalization.Children with Tourette syndrome and their main caregivers are under tremendous psychological pressure during their growth.It seriously affects the children's self-growth and the stability of their family structure.Now,the study of Tourette syndrome is mainly in the field of medicine and psychology.Clear information indicates that psychological factors are the primary cause of the disease,the improvement of family environment and parent-child interaction can significantly promote the tic symptoms of children.This paper is based on case studies,guided by the method of Satir family therapy from the perspective of social work,to help the family to understand the characteristics of Tourette syndrome correctly,to defuse the anxiety of family members about the disease and guide the parents to reflect on the adverse factors which is affecting the development of Tourette syndrome in their family life.Break down existing communication system in their family by using techniques such as family talks,temperature reading and Satir meditation,reshape the repressive rules of the family.Construct and consolidate a consistent communication system between family members.Finally achieve the purpose of relieving the depressed inner emotion and the tic symptoms.By means of family talks,pre-tests and post-tests,the author proves the positive effect of Satir family therapy in Tourette syndrome group.The anxiety of the family members was significantly improved,the new family rules has been rebuilt.Families also have a new understanding of Tourette syndrome.The symptoms of the case subject were under control and the family functions works well.At the end,the author summarizes the innovation of this paper and gives some suggestions on social work intervention in families of children with Tourette syndrome.
