A unique phenomenon in the modern Chinese grammar system is that there are a large number of complements,which are relatively rare in other languages,and it is very difficult to find their counterpart in other languages.As a kind of Chinese complement,the result complement is frequently used in daily life and is often arranged to study in the elementary level of Chinese learning.The structure of the result complement itself is not complicated,but it belongs to the sticky-type complement structure,which is structurally abbreviated,flexible in semantic orientation,and often used in conjunction with "ba" sentences,repeat verbs sentence,“bei” sentences,etc.These features of result complement make it difficult to learn.Therefore,it is necessary to analyze and discuss what to teach and how to teach it.Communicative Language Teaching Approach is a teaching method that helps language learners put the meaning of language at the first place.Since its establishment in the 1980 s,it has attracted the attention of many scholars and is widely used in the field of language teaching.This paper intends to focus on the teaching plan of the result complement based on the communicative approach,and combines the author’s own teaching practice in New Zealand to explore how to improve the learner’s communicative ability to use the result complement.This article is made up by the following four parts:The first chapter first introduces the reason and significance of the topic,and then it describes the research of the result complement and the research of communicative teaching method.Finally,the research methods used in this paper are listed.The second chapter investigates the attitudes of Mandarin learners in Otago Girls’ High School using Chinese for communication,the current interaction situation of learners’ in the mandarin classes,and their willingness of using different approaches to organize the communicative mandarin classes.Through the survey results,the shortcomings in the current Chinese class communication are summarized,and the learners’ communication needs in the Chinese class are comprehensively analyzed.The third chapter firstly combines the results of the previous chapter,after reading,analyzing and collating the research related to Communicative Teaching Approach,it sums up the basic form of using the communicative teaching approach in result complement teaching,and extracts the way to construct communicative teaching model in the class.After that,a comprehensive analysis of the background information of the class,and a specific teaching plan was designed for the commonly used result complements “V+dong,V+hao,V+dao,V+dui,V+cuo,V+wan”.The fourth chapter evaluates and analyzes the students’ homework after teaching practice,and reflects and summarizes the teaching effect of the result complements under the guidance of communicative teaching approach.
