Joint attention is a key skill in the early social development of autistic children.Social robots have potential as an effective tool for intervention of this skill disorder. At present, there are studies on early intervention of social robots for autistic children at home and abroad. However,at present, the number of studies on social robot intervention for autistic children in china is still small, and systematic research has not been carried out,and the academic community has not reached a consensus on the effectiveness of its intervention, which will limit the research and practice of social robot intervention for autistic children. Therefore, how to use the new technology in the field of educational technology to design an effective joint attention intervention training program and verify its intervention effect has become an urgent problem to be solved in the field of educational technology research.Firstly, this study adopts the method of literature research to analyze the research status of joint attention at home and abroad, the research status of social robots, the research progress of social robots' intervention on autistic children and related research on eye tracking technology. On this basis,This study is divided into two experiments: experiment one is the eye movement experiment of social robots induced autistic children to pay attention to key behaviors together.presented by Tobii Pro Glasses 2 Eye Tracker, fourteen autistic children participated in the experiment.Autistic children's gaze characteristics to human therapists and social robots, including the first gaze time and the number of gazes, were recorded by eye tracker. The differences of gaze characteristics were compared to explore whether autistic children were more interested in NAO robots. The first study found that:(1)In the robot-involved activities, the average first gaze time of autistic children was 6.17 seconds. In the human therapist's activities, the average first gaze time of autistic children was 10.51 seconds. It shows that compared with human therapists, autistic children are more likely to have eye-gazing behavior in a shorter period of time with the participation of robots.(2)In the activities involving robots, the average number of gaze for autistic children reached 9.43.In the human therapist's activities, the average number of gaze for autistic children was only 6.93.It shows that children with autism have significantly higher number of gaze on robots than human therapists, and there are significant differences between the two.(3)As can be seen from the eye movement map, compared with the human therapist, children with autism have more concentrated gaze points on NAO robots.NAO robots have more gaze areas, and NAO robots are more attractive to autistic children. The experiment two is the intervention study of NAO robot assisted attention for autistic children.Five subjects were selected from an autism rehabilitation center in Hangzhou to design a joint attention training program. The NAO robot was redeveloped. The three target behaviors of the children with autism were trained by using the social robot NAO,namely, eye gaze, gaze follow and finger following. To exploring the intervention effect of three target behaviors. The second study found that:(1)NAO robots have certain effects on the intervention of autistic children's joint attention skills.(2)The intervention and maintenance effects of 5 autistic children on different target behaviors were different.(3)The intervention effect of the fingers in the five subjects indicating the following behavior was the most significant, and the intervention was 100%.This study enriches the theory of joint attention intervention for autistic children, and provides an empirical basis for the application of social robots in the joint attention of autistic children.A practical application program is designed for NAO robots to improve the joint attention of autistic children, which further promotes individualized and collective rehabilitation training in the field of rehabilitation education, and provides a reference for us to further explore how social robots can improve the joint attention disorder of autistic children.
