With the social development and progress,women' s social statuses are getting higher and higher as well as their work pressures.The nationwide body-building plan outlines how people acquire sports information resources and encourages them to find a proper way of doing physical exercises and enrich their leisure times.The physical education on campus will surely play a vital role in helping them acquire the sports information resources they need and it also serves a great help in developing the habit of doing physical exercises.In a sense,it is of great significance for female college students to grasp a certain degree of sports information resources,which in turn will pave the way for forming a life-long awareness of keeping fit.The paper is written with the following methods,including related literatures,questionnaires and data-analysis.The whole paper can be spun into three parts,in the first place,a basic knowledge of what the sports information resources has been introduced,on basis of which,the definition of sports information resources,the classification,features and effects have been given a thorough explanation.In the second part,the paper makes a thorough research and census on sports information resources both at home and abroad by means of different channels of acquiring related information resources.The third part provides a questionnaire designed with the support of ten universities in Beijing(of which,three universities are known as "University of 211 Project",three universities belong to 985-Prdoject sponsored University",and the remaining four universities are general ones)and help of 500 female university students on the present situation of how sports information resources are being used and its effects on female students,an analysis of the female students demand for sports information resources has been made.In the last part,a strategy is proposed on the basis of related results from analysis and census.The conclusions are as follows:1.Sports information resources refer to to the application of text,data,images,sounds,symbols,vide and other forms,through the collection,processing,storage,classification,management procedure,brings the physical information together,in an orderly manner,which amount to the general characteristics of content related to various sports phenomenon and the regularities of the sports actions.2.Compared with Europe and the United States,as the number of database of domestic professional sports is still relatively small,meanwhile the domestic sports information resources are mainly from the leadership of libraries of different colleges and sports-related departments at all levels,the need to further strengthen the construction of physical database is urgently appreciated.3.Utilization rate of information resources by modern female college students is relatively low,realized mainly through the network search engine of multimedia information on fitness leisure and sports training.They show extra interests in build-up class and confrontational class,which will enrich their amateur cultural life and effectively fulfill the purpose of keeping fit.4.The main factors affecting the female college students' demand on resources of sports information is the limited consciousness of sport information,the lack of skills in acquiring sports information resource and understanding of related information provided by libraries.5.Improving the students and PE Teachers' consciousness of sport information,accelerating the integration and construction of sports information resources,strengthening the library information service work will meet the needs of female college students of demands on sports information resources.
