| The Jewish people often think highly of education.Education is also regarded as a fundamental policy of Israel.Recently,it is noteworthy that the expansion and increasingly influence of ultra-orthodox leads to its education system's rapid growth.The scholars abroad have already notice this phenomenon and made some researches.However,scholars in our country have very limited research on this topic.So this paper attempts to make an analysis on the development and content of ultra-orthodox's education system,and explores the effects to Israel society.This paper is divided into three parts:the introduction,main body and the peroration.At the first,the author explains background,research actuality and research thought in the introduction.There are three chapters in main body.The first chapter talks about the overview of Israel's education and the history development of ultra-orthodox's education system,which helps to form a general acknowledge of ultra-orthodox's education system.In 1947,the secularist reached an agreement with Agudat Israel.This agreement was not formal or legal,but it made the ultra-orthodox's education system independent.After the foundation of Israel State,trend system originated from the Zionism movement was still adopted as the education policy.However,Israel decided to nationalize the different trend systems for the integration of Jewish groups and enhance of Israel identity.So the government passed the State Education Law and practice a new education policy which included state secular education,state religious education and education institution organized by ultra-orthodox.Finally,ultra-orthodox's education system became legal and autonomous.The second chapter is the most important one,which gives a detailed analysis of features of ultra-orthodox Jews in Israel and its education system,including the institution,fuds provided,government control and two kinds of education system organized by different ultra-orthodox parties.The ultra-orthodox Jews in Israel regard glory in past as the only meaningful thing.They believe that to be religious and pious has to keep distance with western secular culture.This group can be divided into Ashkenazim Jews and Sephardic Jews,the former is consist of Hasidic and Misnagdim.The ultra-orthodox Jews only focus on religious education,their school is single-sex.Yeshiva is the core in this education system.Since these education systems are not listed in state education system,it enjoys some independence and autonomy.The control and supervision is not as strict as other state education systems.Besides,the Ministry of Education and Ministry of Religious Affairs offers the education system a lot of funds.With the Yeshiva as the core,ultra-orthodox's education system can be divided into pre-school,Talmud Torah,Lower Yeshiva,Yesiva and Kolel.The last chapter mainly talks about the influence and challenges of ultra-orthodox's education system.Education in Israel is closely connected with the politic parties,schools can be seen as a new channel for politic parties to transmit political thought and religious belief.As a result,ultra-orthodox's power has increased,religious-secular relation becomes more strained,sense of democracy is little among ultra-orthodox Jews.At the same time,this kind of education system are currently facing finances,drop-out and gender discrimination.The last past is conclusion,which explores the possibility that educators in ultra-orthodox education system can have a conversation with the scholars outside.Some ultra-orthodox's schools begin to enroll those children from religious families,but all the scholars who make researches on this field are not belong to any ultra-orthodox communities.As a result,there is little communication about education thoughts,class mode,teachers' training between the insiders and the outsiders.Is it possible that the cultural partition wall can collapse in the near future?... |
