Regardless whether it is a life skill such as walking, writing,or a working skill such as computer operations and massage and massage, these skills require a specific sequence of actions.Motor sequence plays an important role in the acquisition of motor skills. Therefore,it has important research significance in physical education teaching and training.Implicit learning and explicit learning are two basic learning methods of motor sequence learning, and age and basic movement ability are important factors that influence the ability of the motor sequence learning. In this study, experimental methods were used, and the classic serial reaction time(SRT)research paradigm was used to explore the developmental characteristics of the 84 primary school children aged 6-12 years with regard to the learning ability of implicit and explicit sequences. On this basis, the relationship between the learning ability of implicit sequences, the learning ability of explicit sequences and the basic movement ability were discussed respectively.A total of three experiments were conducted and the following conclusions were drawn:Experiment 1 explored the age-related differences in implicit sequence learning ability for children aged from 6 to 12 years. The results showed that at the learning stage, there is no age independence for primary school students' implicit sequence learning ability, that is,with age increased, the ability of implicit sequence learning is gradually improved. At the post-learning stage, there is an age-independence of primary school students' implicit sequence learning ability from age, that is,with increasing age,the learning ability of implicit sequence did not show differences. The second experiment explored the relationship between learning ability and age of explicit sequence of primary school pupils aged 6-12 years. For explicit sequence learning, the sequence learning ability there is an independence for primary school students' implicit sequence learning abilityExperiment 3 examined the relationship between basic motor ability and learning ability of implicit and explicit sequences for pupils aged 6 to 12 years. The results showed that learning ability of implicit and explicit sequence learning ability was not related to basic motor ability. In other words, learning with less duration and intensity would not be beneficial to motor skill acquisition. This enlightens us that,in sports teaching and training, parents, teachers,or coaches must be aware of the critical period of young people, carry out physical exercise as soon as possible, and promote the improvement of the learning ability of implicit sequences. At the same time, students should be taught in accordance with their age-related characteristics, which in turn, enhance explicit learning ability. It is recommended to integrate reasonable and effective physical exercise strategies and promote long-term physical exercise in young people to facilitate motor sequence learning in children at elementary school age.
