Teaching competition is a teaching activity commonly used in schools all over China.In order to realize the purpose of teaching competition to promote teaching and to select the best in competition,and to play the role of teaching competition benignly,this paper explores the factors influencing the possibility of individual competition results in the field of teaching competition.This paper uses qualitative research,using interviews and participation in observation methods to conduct a more in-depth study of six contestants.First of all,based on the existing research results and based on the sociological capital theory and field theory,this study interprets and analyzes the two city-level high school English teaching competitions,and summarizes the main research directions of the teaching competition,so as to include the the qualifications of the participating teachers to enter of the teaching competition field.The military operations value the "right timing,right place and people(tianshi,dili,renhe)," strategy,so is the teaching competition field.Therefore,the paper uses these three elements to explore how the participating teachers prepare for the teaching competition.“Tian Shi” is the cultural capital accumulated by individuals from home and on campus before they enter the job.“Di Li” is the platform for individuals to enter the filed.It is the main source of individual cultural capital and social capital.From top to down,platform includes the school area,the school and the English teaching group.The platform capital is embodied in the network of interpersonal relationships,resource advantages,and promotion advantages.“Ren He” is the support of all the “people” elements of the teaching competition field,including three aspects: the core individual behind the support team,the object of teaching – the judges and the students of the teaching competition.Finally,under the constraints and promotion of the three major elements,the individual will fight in the battlefield of the teaching competition to carry out the contest of capital.The conclusions of the contest are as follows: 1.The individual's time-ofday elements are the original capital accumulated by the individual from the family and on and off campus.The richer the capital,the higher the individual's start.2.The individual's geographical advantage factors determine the individual's interpersonal relationship resources and professional development paths.It not only increases the difference of individual capital,but also affects the individual's motivation for competition.3.The experience of the competition and the individual interaction.The experience of the competition affects the mentality and tacit knowledge of individual competitions.With the support of experience,individual initiative and reflection have a negative effect on the original rules and resources.4.With The people factor,indivisuals can get rid of the constraints of cultural capital to a certain extent and play a decisive role.According to the research conclusion and thinking,the current X city teaching competition can be improved in these three aspects---school level,individual level and teaching competition organization.
