Research On The Development Situation And Countermeasures Of Track And Field Competition Power In China

For accurate positioning the track and field of China in the world competition,this research using the methods of literature review,the method of medal division,Pareto analysis and comparative advantage index to count the countries who enter the medal ranking or scoreboard top 8 of the 3rd~15thWorld track and Field Championships.Based on the evolution characteristics of Chinese Track and field strength in the 3rd~15thWorld Track and Field Championships,analyzing the evolution characteristics of the overall competitive power of track and field in China?event-group and single item competitive power to find out the restricting factors and solutions.The results show that:1?The first group countries' competition,such as the United States,Russia and Jamaica,those countries were own large number of top athletes and the competition power were the strongest,the power for gold was as well;the Chinese power for gold and overall competitive strength belonged to the second group;our country could compare to the latest of first group,but faced the challenges form Poland,Ukraine,France etc.2?The first group's countries dominant events were different,the United States and Russia's owned many dominant events,while Jamaica,Ethiopia were good at sprint and hurdles or endurance running items ect;Chinese dominant event was single and the event-group was challenged by Poland,France and Ukraine;a number of single items of domestic were behind to others,the men's were in danger and the women's hammer was attactting by Poland.3?The track and field strength of China was on the rise,it experienced the three periods: peak-valley bottom – steadily;the proportion of medals and the number of athletes entering top 8 could not catch up the speed of medals or points,but it was emerging a number of outstanding athletes in China and they were contributing to the domestic track and filed.4?The event-groups of China were unbalanced and unstably.The men in our country have a certain competitive power in endurance race,but in fast power throwing and endurance running items could not achieve breakthrough;women had astrong momentum of development in the rapid strength and endurance race,by contrast,the speed of sprint and hurdles,relay were in other situation.5?The characteristics of Chinese men's and women's track and field events are different.110 m hurdles,20 km race walking and 50 km race were the men's main points;in addition,women were focused on the shot and hammer and 20 km race and the women's single items were stronger,but weak more and more weaker.6?According to the weak foundation,some dominant events were difficult to achieve sustainable development?reserve shortage?the low success rate of athletes and lack of professional excellent coach teams,we should exert the advantages of the whole nation system,layout of the events reasonablely and the international development path,also,established the professional coach teams and improve the reserve personnel training system were the key points.
