Patriotism is the spiritual gene of the Chinese nation.It is also the powerful force for realizing the great Chinese rejuvenation.Students in the universities are the hope of the country and future of the nation.Abundant patriotic emotion and correct patriotic cognition are instructive to cultivating college students' national pride and self-esteem.These are also helpful for them to establish correct values of serving the motherland and contributing to society,which can encourage them to work hard to help the country realize its dream.Therefore,educators in the universities or colleagues should implement vivid and effective patriotic education patterns for students.At present,the rapid development of information technology has a profound effect on the social development.New media such as QQ?Wechat?Microblog have an important role in people' s life? work? study and so on.These have also greatly changed people's communication and thinking patterns.As we know,students in the universities are willing to try new things.They can accept those new stuffs quickly.However,their thinking patterns and behaviors have been changed accordingly.This leads to that their emotion and cognition of patriotism have been weakened.The penetration of new media among student has affected the formation of patriotism.Colleges and universities must react positively to the challenges brought by new media to the formation of patriotism among students and think about how to make full use of new media in an effective way to broaden the way of formation of patriotism.The thesis analyzes the characteristics of new media and the connotation of the path of patriotism among students,and propose some methods to improve the path construction of patriotism education for college students from the new media era.It is mainly explained from the following five parts:The first part is the introduction.It will discuss the background,significance,literature review,targeted content,method innovation,etc.In the second part,concepts and theories of the new media as well as the patriotism education will be discussed.Firstly,it introduces the basic connotation,types and characteristics of new media.Secondly,it elaborates the connotation of patriotism and patriotism education among undergraduates.Thirdly,it discusses the connotation of the path of patriotism education as well as the theoretical basis from the perspective of new media.The third part mainly analyzes the challenges and opportunities of the path of patriotism education under the new media era.Problems concerning the spread of the new media such as its barrier-free,new mode,equality and difficulty to control has made the current patriotic education face great challenges.However,the instantaneity of new media communication,the mass of its content,and the diversity of functions and the virtuality of the environment have provided opportunities for the path of patriotism education.In the fourth part,undergraduates from ZN University were taken as the research object.The current situation and existing problems of the formation of patriotism education have been explained from the new media era.The causes of the existing problems have also been analyzed,which lies a solid foundation for proposing feasible innovation methods.In the fifth part,a conclusion has been made based on the empirical research.The paths of improving patriotism education from the new media era have been put forward in the thesis.
