In recent years, the phenomenon of child abuse in various regions has been frequently reported, which has aroused widespread concern in the society.Childhood is a critical period for individual physical and psychological development. In this period, individuals who have experienced abuse will not only cause direct damage to physical development, but also cause irreparable psychological damage to their later growth, resulting in their social and emotional regulation disorders.By combing relevant literature on abuse, emotion regulation strategies and social anxiety, and using measuring tools such as childhood abuse scale, cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire scale and adolescent social anxiety scale, this study took 750 middle school students in yichang city as subjects and made effective statistical analysis with SPSS20.0,and drew the following conclusions:(1)From high to low,the incidence of child abuse is regarded as emotional neglect, emotional abuse, physical neglect, physical abuse and sexual abuse. The overall situation of abuse has significant differences in gender, family economic level and family atmosphere. However, there was no significant difference in whether the only child was born or not and in the location of different families.(2)Middle school students tend to use positive emotion regulation strategy in the choice of emotional regulation strategy, which shows significant differences in gender, grade, family location and family atmosphere.(3)The social anxiety level of middle school students is generally high, with significant differences in grade, family location and family atmosphere, but no significant differences in gender.(4)In the child abuse scale, emotional abuse dimensions are positively correlated with negative emotion regulation strategies and negatively correlated with positive emotion regulation strategies. The dimension of physical abuse is positively correlated with negative emotion regulation strategy and negatively correlated with positive emotion regulation strategy.Sexual abuse was positively correlated with negative emotion regulation strategies.Emotional and physical neglect is positively correlated with negative emotion regulation strategies and negatively correlated with positive emotion regulation strategies.Negative emotion regulation strategy is positively correlated with social anxiety;Total score of abuse, emotional abuse, physical abuse, emotional neglect and physical neglect were positively correlated with social anxiety.(5)Emotion-regulating strategies play a part of mediating role between child abuse and social anxiety.Individuals who have experienced abuse affect their social anxiety by changing their preference for using emotion-regulating strategies.Studies have shown that guiding individuals who have been abused to use appropriate emotional regulation strategies can effectively reduce their social anxiety. Therefore, this study mainly focused on the relationship between childhood abuse, emotional regulation strategies and social anxiety for further research,so as to verify the mediating effect of emotional regulation strategies on abuse and social anxiety.
