Since the reform and opening up,the trend of the expansion of urban and rural household labor wages has been highly concerned by scholars and the government. With the economic development and the large-scale transfer of rural surplus labor to the city, the wage income of rural household labor has gradually increased. At the same time, the wage gap between urban and rural household labor has continued to widen.Scholars have conducted extensive and in-depth theoretical analysis and empirical research on the causes of the differences in wages between urban and rural household labor. In the existing research literature, the differences in urban and rural labor wages caused by the household registration system are of particular concern, and many valuable research conclusions have been drawn.Based on the analysis of the existing research, this study mainly answers the question of the difference in wages between urban and rural household labor under the multiple segmentation of the labor market.Based on the baseline survey data of CFPS2014,based on the Neumark and Brown decomposition methods, the wage difference between urban and rural household labor force under the multiple division of labor market in China and its causes are investigated. The results show that the wages of the household labor in the industry, ownership, occupation and regional cities in China are significantly higher than those in the rural household labor; The results of Neumark decomposition show that 82.24% of the wage difference between urban and rural household labor is caused by the individual characteristics of labor, and the difference in education level is the main reason for the difference in wages between urban and rural household labor,17.76% is caused by household registration discrimination;further Brown decomposition shows that Under the industry, ownership, occupation and regional division, the difference in employment opportunities is not the main reason for the difference in wages between urban and rural household laborers. The different compensation for urban and rural household labor in the department is the main reason for household registration discrimination. The measures to narrow the wage gap between urban and rural laborers include: increasing the investment in urban and rural rural household labor;at the same time of promoting regional economic development, government departments at all levels pay close attention to the labor compensation of rural household labor in the initial distribution, and through relevant system guarantees,Reduce the difference in wages between urban and rural household labor caused by different wages in the rural households, and form a more equitable wage assessment mechanism;formulate anti-discrimination laws;continue to deepen the reform of the household registration system, completely break the urban-rural dual structure, and form a favorable urban and rural household registration Institutional mechanisms such as labor and employment, income distribution and welfare guarantees for fair labor competition promote the formation and improvement of the urban and rural integrated labor market.
