Teenagers' interpersonal communication take place mainly in school, where they go through the most special and important period, and get maturing gradually both in psychology and physiology.School bullying cause them great harm and distress.Quite a few students however chose silence as the solution after suffering bullying.Silence was accumulated before being triggered and vented through violent emotions and uncontrolled behavior which might lead to irreparable consequences and losses and impose on student, family, school even entire society. This study, from the perspective of victim, using qualitative method to explore their selection of silence, focused on why and how victim selected silence and what the main factors were.Grounded Theory was used in this study.Five samples were identified at the purposive sampling stage by observation and interview in field investigation, then 12 samples were obtained through volunteer recruitment at the theoretical sampling stage. The qualitative data collected from 17 subjects was collated, transcribed and encoded with memo data with the assistance of qualitative data analysis software NVivo 12.Data coding was carried out according to the procedure of three-level coding based on the programmed grounded theory. In open coding stage,8 fist-level categories were acquired including the victim's perception of bullying, attitude towards intervention, personal handling, school management and teacher's quality, school processing, family handling and friend intervention. While in axial coding stage, the relationships among 8 categories are established according to the A-F Coding Paradigm Model proposed by Strauss and then4 main categories were defined including the victim's perception of bullying, attitude towards intervention, school management and teacher's quality as well as school processing. After analyzing the logical relationship among the 4 main categories, the core category was defined in selective coding stage, that was, victim's attitude towards intervention. It was found that the 4 categories were the main factors that affected the victim's silent selection. The relationship among them showed that, school management and teachers' quality was an important factor, which affected school processing and victim's perception of bullying;and both school processing and victim's perception of bullying determined victim's attitude towards intervention;and victim's attitude towardsintervention,as the core factor, directly dominate their silence selection.A Flow Chart of Victim's Silence Selection was generated after data analysis and comparison with original data repeatedly.A Theoretical Model of Factors then was acquired by simplifying the flow chart. And A Substantive Theory finally was put forward based on the theoretical model and memo data, and the analysis of relevant theories on the mechanism of cognition and behavior. This study, with expectation to making up the shortcomings about this issue of quantitative research methods using in educational management, offered reference to educators for preventing and intervening school bullying.Restricted by skills, energy, available time and resources however,it hadn't been pushed in-depth.It provided possibility of development and quality improvement about this study to enhance dialogue of intersubjectivity involved in bullying.
